Can you get a 2 weeks contact lens with daily disposable lens prescription? I recently got daily disposable contact lenses to wear them when I'm snowboarding. I wear glasses and I used to snowboard without glasses but my eye sights got worse(myopia -2.75, -3.00) and I can't see the bumps on the slope well at dusk. I'll use the contacts only when I'm snowboarding. So I got a disposable contact lens exam (1 day Acuvue) and it seems that the best price I could find on these was $18.50 a box. For 4 boxes (2 months), it comes out $74. They'll be enough for this winter and maybe winter. I haven't ordered yet. Then I found out from a hot deals website that you can buy 8 boxes of Acuvue Oasis (2 weeks disposable, 1 year's supply) for just $111.98. I was wondering if I could order it without getting a new contact lens prescription and another question is if I open one up, how long can it last if I used only once? Like if I open a pair and use one day on this Saturday then put them in a contact lens case, can I use them next Saturday? How long can I use like that? How many times?
Daily disposable contact lens - What to get? I have been wearing contact lens for the past 10 years or so. 21 this year. Main irritation due to dry eyes etc. Contact lens I've been wearing include Soflens 38 and 59. I wear them monthly as described by my optician (which when i checked online turns out to be fortnightly). I am thinking of changing to daily disposable lens. I have to wear them for about 14hours a day. Any good recommendations? Im currently looking at 1 Day Acuvue Moist but they are really expensive ;(
The definition for 30 day wear disposable contact lens? I ordered contact lens that is for 30 day wear but i don't wear them 30 consecutive days, I wear them only on the weekends, can i wear them for 30 times for non consecutive days even i properly sanitize them with cleaning solution? or must I throw them away after 30 days regardless of how many times I wear them within a month?
disposable contact lens When the doctors say that we can wear a pair of disposable contact lens for 15 days does that mean that we have to change the lens after 15days even if we wore them for just 3 days? I mean, do the lens become bad in 15 days just by staying in the solution once opened?
Contact lens monthly disposable accuve irritates my eyes after using Renu solution? I have been using contact lens for the past 3 months which were daily disposable as it was costly so i switchIveove to monthly disposable contact lens for 6 months. i had no problem with the daily disposable one of the same brand when putting it on my eyes. even the 6 mts one i had no problem when i took for the first time from the pack. After washing with Renu contact solution when i put it on my eyes it's kinda irritates my eyes and my eyes become red but after some time of 1 mints it becomes normal. Is that irritation kind of infection. i clean my lens case daily, wash my hands with soap while putting and removing contact lens.Is this normal
60 Day Disposable Contact Lens Care? I bought nonprescription contacts online. The box says to follow the included care instructions, but there are none. The brand is Calaview, Disposable Soft Contact Lens, 60 Day way, 2-tone (if that makes any difference). They're just meant to change the eye color. What I really want to know is what cleaning solutions, saline mix, type of case, etc. I need to buy. I have no idea what brand, what type, well, you get the point. Thanks for the help. I know, I know, I should have consulted an eye doctor. No lectures, please :(
Why is it a bad idea to wear disposable contact lens past their suggested throw away date? I wear disposable contact lens and I have been told to toss them after 14 to 16 days of use. All of the solutions for storing and cleaning the lens after their daily use all claim to remove most of the protein build up accumulated during the day, as well as disinfect and moisturize the lens, so that they are supposed to be almost like new. By the end of the suggested 14 to 16 days the lens feel almost like they did the first day I put them in. So what's the deal? Why can't I wear them for another week or so if they are supposed to be almost like new from the cleaning and disinfecting these of new types of solutions? Oops. mistakenly wrote "these of" instead of "of these".
How long can you use a) contact lens or b) hair gel before they EXPIRE? I have had contact lens for almost a year. I have an one-day-use disposable contact lens in an unopened package. I also have several unopened packages of contact lens that can be used for a week (I think, not sure). Is it safe to use them now, if I've had them since mid-2005? I also have hair gel in an opened bottle. I use it rarely but when I do, I'm not sure if it's harmful to me or anything, because the gel seems the same as before. I've had this bottle for about 3-4 years now. Simplified, is it still SAFE to use these products after sitting for so long? Thanks.
How long can you use 2 weeks disposable contact lenses if you use only once per week? I recently got daily disposable contact lenses to wear them when I'm snowboarding. I wear glasses and I used to snowboard without glasses but my eye sights got worse(myopia -2.75, -3.00) and I can't see the bumps on the slope well at dusk. Disposable Contact Lens types? What is the difference between the soft lenses you replace after three months and the two week kind? It seems that there isn't really any difference between a lot of them, they are even made from the same materials by the same company. Wikipedia seems to bear this out as well. So is the difference just in the way they have been tested and approved by the FDA or is there a real difference? I don't need a lecture, I follow my doctor's schedule, just curious.
Non disposable contact lens care!!? I am spending the night at my friend's house and I don't know what kind of contacts I have I just know that they are not disposable. I forgot my contact overnight care bottles and I can't use water, that will ruin them. Any suggestions? And no I don't think I can wear them over night. The longest I've slept with them is two or three hours. I hear if you have them in for too long they will roll back into your eyes. Is there any other product I could put them in?
What type/brand of daily disposable contact lens is good? I am currently wearing glasses. I worn contact from 1987 to 1997. Sometimes I have to attend dinner and because of wearing glasses I did not put make-up. I was thinking of buying few pairs of contact lens for attending party or dinner. There are many brand in the market. May I know which type is good? Easy to put on and easy to remove. I remember few years ago I worn a pair of contact lens to attend a dinner, after reach home, I tried to remove the lens but it was stuck in my eyes, I put in some eyes drops also can't help. I spent one hour to remove. What a scary moment! From that day onward I dare not to wear contact lens. Why it stuck onto my eyes ball? What can I do? I do not want it to happen again. Please advise. Thanks.

This is my first time wearing contact lens, Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism, so do i need to buy any cleaning solution to clean it and if is, which brand ? Thanks You ! Is it everytime i remove them , i need to clean them ? or i can just put them back into the casing without cleaning and use it again tomorrow ?
My 4 1/2 mo. Golden Retrev. ate my disposable contact lens case (plastic, small, kind of sharp edges)? She has already had 2000 dollar surgery for eating cooked chicken bones, so I am hesitant to bring her to the vet because they will probably tell me they need to open her up again to remove it. Will she be fine? Uhhh she is like a little vacuum and when I go to grab things from her mouth that are bad, she thinks omigosh this must be good and swallows it! How long tell I can tell whether or not it will be an issue?? I'm trying to not only save another two grand but more important, the surgery was really hard on her (she is just a puppy... who had to not play, run, jump, etc for two weeks!!!) and I don't want to put her through that again unless it is absolutely necessary. I'm sooo worried, will she be okay or should I not risk it? Should I make her throw up (she ate it less than an hour ago)?? If so, how do I do it?
Can we wear monthly contact lens beyond one month as they are prescribed? I have been using monthly disposable contacts for quite some time now. But was wondering if I can wear the contacts lens beyond the prescribed time say for monthly we wear it for 45 days or 60 days. Will it have any ill effect? How can I determine with monthly disposables that its time to dispose it off? Any signs like eye irritation etc? Or Is it better to stick to have it only for 30 days?
what do i need to know / be aware when i get my first contact lens? i wanna get my first contact lens. what do i need to know or be aware of? like my freind told me that i should get those disposable contacts, because it's cheaper and easier to take care of and wouldn't have to get a new one if i lose them. what do you think? any other things i should know about contacts?

Why do some contact lens wearers prefer the longer term contact lenses? Seems everyone should be wearing daily? When convenience and health are considered it seems that daily disposable contacts are a superior option. My question is why do some people prefer biweekly, monthly or even yearly contacts. Are those contacts perceived to be constructed out of better materials? Does the cost seem lower even though those contacts must be cleaned and stored each night? So we've established daily contact lenses are more expensive. What about overall comfort. Are daily lenses more comfortable than biweekly, monthly lenses?
Why does my contact lens move in my eye? I have monthly disposable contacts and they have been working out fine for me all year. However, recently the left contact has started to move out of place every time I blink. I thought maybe it was just that one particular contact so I opened the pack for the next month and tried that one and the same thing happened. I know that contacts are aligned and weighted at the bottom so they sit properly in your eye and these have worked fine all year so I assume the doctor measured them to my eye correctly. I have had itchy and dry eyes due to allergies, could this be the issue? Or has my prescription changed in just this short period of time?
Contact lens help? Hi, I am right now using disposable contact lens....but after an hour I wear them my eyes get tired....is there any other lens I can try that will retain mositure in my eyes...where can I get it?
Whats the most comfortable contact lens? For an astigmatism? I currently wear 1month disposable (toric) lens from specsavers, UK. My eyes dry out quickly and i cant wear the contacts for as long as i would like to. Whats the most comfortable lens for an astigmatism? Thanks in advance.
Pros and Cons of 2 Week vs. Monthly Disposable contact lenses? What are the pros and cons of wearing 2 week disposable conact lenses, for example, Acuvue Oasys. What are the pros and cons of wearing monthly disposable contact lenses? currently my optometrist is letting me try a monthly disposable contact lens, but i don't know the brand. This is my first time wearing contacts. I kind of wanted to go with 2 week disposables since I think they are thinner and better like Acuvue Oasys, which is suppose to be really good. Also, the contact lens covers more than the iris of my eye. Is that normal? Like it also covers a bit of the white parts of my eye, which makes it more noticeable that I'm wearing contacts because you can see the outline on the white part. Is there a way to make it cover only the iris or maybe cover less of the white part. I don't want my lenses to be noticeable. Thanks. also, which ones are more comfortable?
What happens if I wear the same contact lens too often? I just got disposable prescription contact lenses and I was told to wear a pair for roughly 12 hours or I could use them briefly, store them, and wear again briefly, and then throw them away. I might have bent this rule a little bit by storing them and using the same pair about 3 days in a row. Does this damage my eyes? What happens?
Can I still wear my contact lens? I got disposable contact lenses and yesterday morning one of them fell out. I found it this morning on my computer, but it was all dry. I can't get to the eye doctor until Monday. If I soak the lens in saline, can I still use it?
Can I wear my disposable contact lenses, which I normally change monthly, one hour a day for a year? I just got new glasses, and if I wear my disposable contact lenses one hour a day for exercising and then the rest of the day wear glasses, it would seem crazy to me to throw away the contact lenses every month since I would only be wearing them for a fraction of the time. If you do the math, one hour a day compared to 15 hours a day of normal use, I could really wear them for 15 months. Is my logic faulty?
Does it Matter what way you put in daily disposable contact lenses? Does it Matter what way you put in daily disposable contact lenses? If the lenses folds up on your finger it’s hard to tell what was the original way, I’ve not noticed a difference when wearing them, but one of my friends says he finds his lenses really uncomfortable when he puts them in inside out (we both wear daily disposables).
If you have corneal neovascularization, which is better - gas permeable contact lenses or disposable lenses? I am not sure which offers my eyes more oxgen - gas permable lenses or the newer, thinner disposable daily contact lenses. An optician at an eyeglass store sold me the disposables, but I am worried that his medical advice was biased by the sale. In the past, I have been told that gas permeables are the best for corneal neovascularization. The optician told me that things have changed with the evolution of the dispoable lenses. Any unbiased help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much!
How to take care yearly disposable contact lenses? I need some advice on how to take care of yearly disposable lenses since i got 2 pairs of them.... i don't wear them 7 days a week..maybe just 2 or 3 days at the max..i always wash my hands befor e inserting them and i also rub the lenses before i soak them in the solution..but i am just afraid that my eyes will still get infected =X, so guys..please offer me your advice and experience. =)
Is it safe to wear my Acuvue Moist daily disposable contact lenses overnight? I am out of contact lenses until Monday and am currently wearing my last pair. Can I wear them overnight without any problems? I don't own a storage case for the lenses since I only wear daily disposables. I need them in tomorrow when I play a round of golf and wax my SUV. I will be wearing them overnight! Thanks!
What is the best brand of daily disposable contact lenses? I just got contacts and I ♥ them! What is the best brand of daily disposable contacts to buy? Also, is it better to order them online? They're alot cheaper at discountcontactlenses.com.. And any tips would be much appreciated ! ♥ ♥
don't you feel guilty that you have disposable contact lenses? well, you know that plastic is not biodegradable, don't you? so why do you allow your optician to give you disposable contact lenses? don't you think you should insist on glass lenses? what does it matter if it hurts your eyes just a little bit more? it's for the environment, right? ADDED DETAILS: don't you get the joke? how the hel* could disposable contact lenses fill up a landfill? it would be better to load them onto a rocket and shoot them towards the sun, where they'd vaporize. one less environmental hazard to worry about. eyeglasses: here's what you do: so many people all over the world need eyeglasses but cannot afford them. find opticians/charity organizations that distribute them to poverty-stricken people all over the world. then buy yourself the latest fashion, if you want. using real glass and real metal frames is probably the greenest way to go. but you had better really, really worry about those disposable contact lenses! plastic! not biodegradable! HA HA HA! COMPUTERS ARE ALL RECYCLABLE. SO ARE CELL PHONES. AND IPODS.
Are disposable contact lenses ever sold in 1 pair only? well, i only need to wear contacts for once or twice, for the most, a few hours. so it would not be worth it to buy permanent ones. but the disposable ones are only sold in packets of many many lenses. so i was wondering if they are ever sold in like 1 pair? btw, it has to be able to be obtained in singapore xD
Does anyone get daily disposable contact lenses from Specsavers? I get them from here through lensmail . I've just opened them and they are using a different type, as the packaging has changed from blue to black and so have the actual lens 'pods'. They are now called ' opsys' The shop is shut now and I'm getting nothing from the net so can anyone tell me are they just re-branded or are they something new? OR have they sent me someone elses LOL.
I have disposable contact lenses, can i keep them to reuse? Like, i have monthly soft contact lenses, and I was wondering if I could instead of throing the away, jjust keep them incase I lose them or somthing, even though I will get 6 pair, you never know how often i'll lose the,..whateveer you get the point. Using 3-month disposable contact lenses with 30-day contact lense solution? Is it safe to use 3-month disposable contacts with contact solution that says only to use with 1-month disposable contacts? I would like an answer from an optometrist or any other doctors that work with the eye. I don't want to get an infection in my eyes or go blind or anything. I recently read the box and it says not to store the contacts for more than 30 days without rinsing and resoaking them in the solution. The contact solution is Equate Multi-Purpose Solution.
Disposable contact lenses for extreme anisometropia? I have extreme anisometropia (i.e. I am very farsighted in one eye and very nearsighted in the other) right now I wear the Biocurve brand contact lenses that are extended wear. But I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible for someone with my condition to wear disposable contact lenses?
Has anyone tried Acuvue Bifocal disposable contact lenses? I love not having to mess with reading glasses and was thrilled when I found these bifocal contacts although I am having some problems with them. They sometimes get stuck up inside my eyelid and it is difficult to get them out. Also, they don't seem to last very long at all. Anyone had similar problems or having better luck with a different brand?
Contact lenses? Can we safely reuse those daily disposable contact lenses? I wear contacts once or twice a week. I recently purchased a box of 1 day acuvue lenses. After wearing a pair for five hours, I take them off and, since they don't look cracked or torn I wonder why I can't just store them in a sterile solution and wear them again a couple of days later. What will happen if I do that?
Can I wear daily disposable contact lenses? Hi, I wear monthly disposable contacts, Im going camping for 2 weeks and think that dailies would be more suitable. Is there any reason I shouldnt switch for a while? Thanks
