Contact lenses? Okay, so me and a couple of my friends are planning to go to Knott's Soak City ^^. Is it a bad idea to wear contact lenses? I think you're not allowed to swim with them but if water gets into them is that bad too?
Contact Lenses? I have not worn contact lenses for over ten years, when I did they were Rigid Gas Permeable which my optician said were best for me as I have slight astigmatism. I would like to start wearing contacts again occasionally. Are these hard lenses still available?

Do contact lenses work differently if flipped the other way? I have soft contact lenses (and basically 99.9% of people who have contact lenses have soft contact lenses, hopefully). Since contact lenses can be flipped inside out if you know what I mean... My question is... Do contact lenses work differently if I flip them the other way and then put them on, or should the contact lens affect my eye the same no matter which side is in contact with my eye?
Is Freshlook Color Contact Lenses Very Uncomfortable? I have 20/20 eye vision and i've tried colored contacts before i've tried Flexwear Colors contact lenses and they feel fine. They are a little bit uncomfortable but that's maybe because my eyes get dry. I'm planning on buying Freshlook Color or Colorblends contact lenses and i've heard they are quite uncomfortable. So i was just wondering if i buy Freshlook Lenses and i've already tried other colored lenses will the uncomfortability level of the lenses be the same or will freshlook really be a problem?
How do colored contact lenses work without tinting your vision? I've always wondered how colored contact lenses work. Are they completely colored, or is there a clear spot in the center for the pupil? If they are completely colored, wouldn't blue contact lenses tint your vision blue, like sunglasses? If there is a clear hole for the pupil, how does the fact the pupil changes size affect things? I would think when the pupil got really small you would see a small circle of the original eye color around it, and when it got big it would tint the edge of your vision.
How can I get contact lenses with the prescription my opthamologist gave me? I've worn contact lenses for a few years. For my most recent check-up, I switched to an opthamologist who does not work with an optician. The opthamologist says that the prescription he gave me can get me contact lenses (as well as glasses), but he did not explain how. With my old optometrist, he'd examine my eyes, have me try a pair of contacts and then I'd order them in his office.
Is it safe to wear blue contact lenses on top of all white contact lenses? I recently bought some blue contact lenses but because my eyes are so dark, you wouldn't be able to see them. I already own some all white contact lenses (that are basically white on both sides) and thought that if I attached the blue ones onto the white ones and placed the contacts on my eye (from the white side) you would be able to see them. This was in fact the case after I tried them on. Is this in any way unsafe?
How do I tell if contact lenses are too tight? I have this irritating pain after several hours of wearing contact lenses. But I'm not sure If it is because of my contact lenses being to tight or I didn't handle it right or whatever. What should your eye look like when wearing normal soft contact lenses? Should the contacts cover the corneA by how many millimeters? My contacts cover the cornea by about 1 or 2 millimeters. Is that normal?
What contact lenses are better than acuvue 2? I've been wearing acuvue 2 lenses for over 3 years and now I feel they're starting to lose my interest. I went three weeks straight with wearing my glasses and I went back to wearing my contacts about a week ago and they're causing my eyes to feel a little dry sometimes, but nothing major like tearing, blurry vision, etc. Just irritation and some itchiness. I know nothing's infected, too. What are some better contact lenses out there?
Where could I buy contact lenses that come only in one pair? I'm planning to use contacts for just one day (special occasion) and I want to buy ONLY one pair of contacts (not those one day contact lenses that come in a 30 or 90 pair pack)... Any help? And is the degree of eyeglasses the same as to contacts?
How do toric contact lenses correct an astigmatism? I have just had my old soft contact lenses changed to soft toric lenses, because of my astigmatism. And the change is unbelievable. I think I am actually getting better vision from them than from my glasses. So, how do they work to correct the astigmatism?
What happens to comatose patients who wear contact lenses? I am aware that prolonging the duration of contact lens wear is bad for your eye. However, if a person who wears contact lenses is in a coma, will medical workers remove the lenses for the patient? Am just curious if medical workers take this detail in consideration...I can imagine how bad it would be for a comatose patient to be sleeping with contact lenses on for a month!
What is the best brand for contact lenses? The above qustion is for all the brands out there. One more question. Out of the following brands, which is better: 1. Bausch and Lomb PureVision Contact Lenses 2. Acuvue Brand Contact Lenses They are both offering free trials for their lenses and I'm wondering which brand is the better brand. also if possible can you please list pros and cons of both brands. Thanks
What would an online retailer of counterfeit contact lenses be charged with? They sell fake counterfeit contact lenses and claim that those were genuine GEO contact lenses. Their product descriptions also state that the contact lenses were YEARLY disposable but it has been reported that they had to be disposed within a MONTH. Would the online retailer be charged with Trademark infringement? Fraud? Product misrepresentation? Am i correct? What other business crime has the internet retailer committed?
How many times do you replace your contact lenses case? I'm new to wearing contacts, and I often read that contact lenses case should be replaced every 3 months to prevent contamination. I plan to take very good care of my contacts, with cleaning and storing them, etc., so hopefully, that means I don't have to keep replacing the case. If you're a contact lenses wearer, please tell me how often you replace yours, and if you have had any problems by using the case for more than 3 months. Thanks.
What to do about contact lenses being mixed up? I took my contact lenses out of my eyes tonight and cleaned them, then I put a the left contact in the left container, and then put the right contact in the left container, so they were both floating around and I realized there were two. I quickly scooped one out and put it in the right side. I have Night & Day Contact lenses, and my prescription is the same on both sides (-.150) Or something, what do I do?
Is wearing Contact lenses in a film developing darkroom safe? I've heard rumours such as "wearing contacts while developing film will cause the chemicals to melt your lenses to your eyes". Since that idea has entered my mind, I've worn my glasses in the darkroom while processing black and white film. Do any of you wear your contact lenses in your darkrooms, or does this "quote" have a bit of truth to it?
What colour contact lenses look good on medium skin? I have short dark brown reddish hair and brown eyes which look really light in the sun. What colour contact lenses should I go for? And what are your opinions on contact lenses - fake, tacky, etc? Or should I just stick with my own eyes? Need some advice, thanks!
What is the longest length to wear contact lenses? For example I have 1 month long disposable contact lenses. However, I only wear contacts for special occasions which counts as a week per month. Does this mean I have to switch the contacts every month or is it the length of time you actually wear the contacts? Could I keep the contacts for the 30 days I wear them or throw them out every month? I have specific type of contacts so its rather expensive.
Is it safe to wear normal contact lenses even if I have astigmatism? I use Acuvue Contact Lenses for Astigmatism for about a year now. And I was wondering if I can wear a normal contact lenses? Like the Circle Lenses. I heard from someone I know that also have astigmatism that she is wearing circle lenses from Geo, not the Toric or the one for astigmatism. Is it safe? Will it damage my eyes? And do you know any site that I can buy circle lenses? Thanks!
Where can I purchase contact lenses without a prescription? I have an outdated prescription for contact lenses. I know my vision has not changed and all I need is some new lenses with my old prescription. Am currently unemployed and money is tight. There has to be over-seas vision places that sells contact lenses without a prescription but am having no luck in finding any. Any help would be appreciated.
What are the most natural looking brown contact lenses? I have light green eyes, but I'd like to wear non-perscription brown colored contact lenses, just every now and then for a different kind of look. But opaque lenses are usually SO unnatural looking. Especially the ones that try and replicate natural iris lines/specles, etc. (it doesn't matter to me if they have an iris pattern or not---I just want them to look natural.) So what brand of brown contact lenses would you reccommend for light eyes?
Is it safe to wear circle contact lenses even if I have astigmatism? I use Acuvue Contact Lenses for Astigmatism for about a year now. And I was wondering if I can wear a normal contact lenses? Like the Circle Lenses. I heard from someone I know that also have astigmatism that she is wearing circle lenses from Geo, not the Toric or the one for astigmatism. Is it safe? Will it damage my eyes? And do you know any site that I can buy circle lenses? Thanks!
Is it possible to wear contact lenses over contact lenses? I am attending a cosplay contest and I was planning on getting some Uchiha contact lenses. I am as blind as a bat and getting the lenses with my prescription would be too expensive. I already own contact lenses so I was wondering if maybe I can put my normal contact lenses and then put the uchiha over them. Is that possible? Thanks
How much does contact lenses cost in Australia? I have just recently been diagnosed with a rare eye condition called keratoconus and told by the optometrist that I will need to wear Rigid gas-permeable contact lenses to treat the condition. I have been reffered to another optometrist to deal with the condition and prescribe the contact lenses. Any help will be appreiciated.
How often should I switch pairs of contact lenses? I have six pairs of contact lenses that should last me the next year. I wore one pair of contacts for almost four months without any problems, but now that I have these six new pairs, I'm wondering if I should just switch them every two months or should I just keep wearing the one pair until I feel the need to switch them out? Does it make any kind of difference? I have really healthy eyes and no problems with my contacts up until now, but this is the first time I've worn contacts (save for that first trial pair), so I am a little green when it comes to this stuff.
what is the difference between circle lenses and regular contact lenses? Theres this big thing going on about circle lenses having high dangerous risks, i don't understand the differences besides circle lenses giving your eyes an image that makes them appear bigger. I bought contacts about a month ago but as i'm thinking about it, i'm not even sure if they are contact lenses or circle lenses.
How can I get rid of redness from wearing contact lenses? I wear contact lenses for about 13-15 hours a day and ive been getting like these red wavery veins from the outer side of my eyes. It could be from wearing contact lense too long , and maybe because the lenses itselfs making my eyes red. I hate it everytime i put them on, my eyes dont look clear and white. I also notice other people that wear contact lenses but their eyes look natural and pretty with no sign of redness/ veins. So what should i do ?
How oxygen permeable should contact lenses be? I wear Biomedics brand contact lenses, and I think they are less oxygen permeable than Acuvue contact lenses. I wear them all day, but I do not sleep in them. I was wondering if lack of oxygen permeability can cause veins to grow into your eyes.
What brand of contact lenses do you wear? And on a scale of 1-10 how comfortable are they? I'm trying to find the right daily contacts lenses for me because I have really dry eyes. I just tried monthly contact lenses by proclear and they were awful. My right eye was all red and puffy. Plus I hate the hassle of cleaning my contacts lenses.
Can you get perscription contact lenses in color? I'm planning to get contact lenses next year in January. I have quite bad eye sight but I don't want to wear glasses anymore. I was just wondering, could I get contact lenses that benefit my sight as well as have different color? Or are they all the same?
How dangerous is wearing contact lenses if you are a hospital employee? I think there is an increased risk of catching some sort of eye infection particularly if the hospital is uncomfortably hot and its air is dry. Furthermore, the modes of transmission of communicable diseases is apparent with patient-staff interaction, which includes person-to-person (eg mucous, respiratory droplets, fluids/semi-fluids of enteric origins, and so forth), or person-to-object-to person. Is there any numerical data, or study that has been conducted that suggests an increased risk of hospital employees who uses contact lenses developing nosocomial eye infections?
What happens if your pupils dilate past your contact lenses? I have really poor vision (20/400 to be exact) and I wear hard-permeable contact lenses. This type of lens is much smaller than a regular contact lens (a little more than half the size of a regular lens). What will happen to my vision if my pupils dilate out past my contact lenses?
Contact lenses? Okay, so me and a couple of my friends are planning to go to Knott's Soak City ^^. Is it a bad idea to wear contact lenses? I think you're not allowed to swim with them but if water gets into them is that bad too?
How bad is it to wear contact lenses beyond the recommended use? I have extended wear contact lenses (I think that's what they are called) that can be worn every day for 2 weeks. Then I'm supposed to dispose of them and use a new pair. I usually only wear them when I work out which is about 2 hours a day. I'm on my last pair of lenses and don't have the money to get new ones yet. How much longer could I wear them? And what could happen if worn too long?
How long does it take to get Contact Lenses and how do I get them? I have a recent glasses prescription and just bought new glasses a week ago. I hate my new glasses and I just want to get contact lenses, been wearing glasses for a long time. I am going to Lens Crafters tomorrow, how long is the whole process until I can get the contact lenses? Thanks.
Contact LENSES? are contact lenses suppossed to be blurry and a bit uncomfortable when you first put them in? is it just your eyes getting used to them, or have i done them upside down? please can you give me some information as to what they should be like, and how you can tell if they're blurry because they're in wrong, or if they just dont work. any information please, i got them today and it's been a bit worrying as everythings gone wrong and i'm paying £15 for them a month! thank you! x x
What are the risks of wearing Daily Contact Lenses? I'm planning on getting Acuvue 1 a Day Moist contact lenses. And I'm planning on wearing them about 6 - 8 hours per day( mainly just for school) for 5 or 6 days a week. I know there are more risks for extended wear contacts, but how about daily contacts? My eyes are at about 4.50 degree. I'm planning to keep it as low as possible and do Laser eye surgery when i'm in my 20's. Thanks.
How to take contact lenses properly if you have a fine motor skill delay? Greetings my name is philippe I have recently bought contact lenses at the eye doctor. Can wearing contact lenses affect red-eye in photographs? I always always always have red eye in photographs, even when I am in a large group and nobody else has it and even when the camera used has red-eye reduction. I wear contact lenses and wondered if this could be the cause? If not, is it something to worry about? An eye condition for example? I don't imagine I am the only one wearing contact lenses in a large group I KNOW I am the only one wearing contact lenses as I know everyone in the photographs and nobody else wears them. I wouldn't have asked otherwise.
What is the best way to clean cloudy contact lenses? I have been wearing my contact lenses for a couple of days now. They have already become cloudy, and I have cleaned and disinfected them properly. I have been wearing contact lenses for almost ten years now. Is there anything that I can buy or do that may be able to salvage them?
Is it unhealthy to wear contact lenses since it does not allow your eyes to breathe? Alright, so we all know that contact lenses does damage to our eyes to some degree. No matter what advertisements say, something that's constant touching the most sensitive part of your exposed body is obviously unhealthy. I'm 14 this year and i really need contacts. My glasses are extremely annoying and unfashionable, but I'm scared to get contacts. I don't know how i'll b able to put something into my eyeball. and how to pinch back out without assitance. I don't know how i will accept the fact that something's sticking to my eye all the time. I need to know what are the long term side effects of contacts lense, what damages it does to the eyes, and how healthy they are. Are there eye diseases related to contact lenses. And no, i'm talking about wearing CLEAN lenses. Not like dirty lenses cuz i know you can get infections from that. Anything important about contact lenses would be helpful to me please. i want them so bad but i need over come the fear first. thanks.
How often should you change your contact lenses? HI, I want to know how often am I supposed to change my contact lenses. I was told ever 2 weeks. I have my contacts on for 4 months. My sisters told me that I can go blind. So they are getting on top of me to change my contact lenses.
Best soft contact lenses to reduce glare while driving at night? I'm wondering if I'll have better luck with another brand. Any suggestions? Thanks.
How to buy toric contact lenses for only one eye? I'm a first time contact lens wearer. I have slight astigmatism in my left eye and so I was told by my doctor to wear toric lenses. My right eye can wear just regular lenses. The question I have is, how can I buy these lenses so that I have toric lenses for my left eye and regular lenses for my right eye? Err, nevermind. I can just choose when ordering online to buy zero (0) boxes for the right eye.
How much do monthly contact lenses cost with insurance? I just got contact lenses today, and I love them. I was just wondering how much I will have to pay. I have vsp insurance They are soft, monthly clear lenses I get them at Pearle Vision I don't know what brand they are, sorry If anyone could tell me this it would be helpful, thanks!
What do you need to be able to buy contact lenses? what kind of prescription? I know that you require a prescription within 1 year to buy contact lenses. However, I already have measurement for my eyes (base curve, diameter) on my previous contact lens boxes. So can i just get an eye exam just for testing my refraction/power ? What i actually need are the refraction...I have my eye size measurement on the boxes of my previous lens. Or do I still have to get a prescription which lists my : - refraction/power - eye size to be able to buy lens?
What is the procedure to getting your first-time contact lenses? What are the exams/fittings dealie? Approximately how mush does the contact lens exam. fitting, and contact lenses themselves each separately cost? also, I don't have VSP, but my health insurance at kaiser covers most of the cost of Rx eye check-ups, wold they also cover the cost of contact lens eye exam? i know it varies depending on insurance, but can anyone give me some input on this?
How long can I use my contact lenses? I use disposable contact lenses - Bausch & Lomb SofLens (polymacon), 38. I've been wearing (these) contacts now for almost 4 months. I wear them almost everyday of the week, for about 12-14 hours a day. I don't sleep with them on and when they're not in use, I place them in the solution I was given (which I replace everyday). How long should I use each contact before disposing it? And is it a problem if I use a contact lens and within less than a week there is already a small tear at its edge? This has been happening to me several times within the past 3 weeks or so, so I've been throwing out a few lately. I don't think I've ever worn them for longer than a month...probably 3 weeks at the most.
How to practice putting in contact lenses ? I went to the optometrist yesterday to practice putting in my first pair of contact lenses. I could not do it. After about five minutes of trying, the lens tore. Now they have to order me a new lens and it will take about a week. I have now a week to practice so that I don't have trouble when I go back this Friday. Can I practice keeping my eyelids open while touching my eye with my index finger, or can it hurt my eye if I touch it with a bare finger? Any tips?
How are contact lenses expiry dates formatted? Hi, I recently purchased a pair of crazy contact lenses from an online store. When it arrived today, I discovered that the expiry date printed is: 201205. Are expiry dates on contact lenses vile read as dd/mm/yyyy or just yyyy/mm? Could someone please clarify this for me? Thanks in advance.
How do you know when to change your contact lenses? I got my first contact lenses about a month and a half ago and they told me I should change them every month, but that they may last longer. I take care of my contacts just fine, but how do I know when I should change them? I'm asking cause I don't want to be wearing them without knowing they're secretly damaging my eye.
What are the most comfortable soft contact lenses to wear? I've tried many different brands and still haven't found one that I can wear more than 3-4 hours at a time. But I hear other people can wear them all day long with no problem. What contact lenses do you think are the best/most comfortable?
Is there any way to keep my contact lenses from expiring? I have a couple packages of unopened monthly soft contact lenses that I bought last year. According to the unopened packages, they are about to expire. From what I've gathered, it's the saline solution in which these contacts are submerged that expire (and evaporate), not the actual lenses themselves. Would it be a feasible and/or safe way to extend the expiration of these lenses by opening them up and re-storing them in fresh saline liquid?
What's the best brand to get colored contact lenses and how old do you have to be to buy them? I want to get colored contact lenses for when I start High School (9th grade) next year. I want green ones with a sort of brown color in the middle but I was wondering how old you had to be to buy them and which ones are the best brand to get? I know I want soft lenses and I know I want the 30 day ones (not everyday) but I'm not sure about the legal implications, prescriptions ect. Also I'm supposed to wear glasses but I don't if that alters anything.
What are the absolute best contact lenses? I wore contacts a few years ago, but I guess my eyes are sensitive because they were always really bothering me. I understand now that contacts are much better and more comfortable, even some that are supposedly so good you can't even tell they're there. What are the best and most comfortable contact lenses?

What happens if i wear daily contact lenses too long? I have daily contact lenses, and have been told that i can wear them for about 10 hours a day. They are daily disposables. Mono Vision Contact Lenses VS Bifocal Contacts, do you have any experience with either or both? I am currently "trying" to work with mono-vision contact lenses. I have worn them for 5 days, and find them very difficult to see with. One lens is for close up, the other is for distance. Its difficult to adjust, and I am having no luck. I normally wear bi-focal glasses. I am looking for suggestions or your own personal experience with either or both of these contact lens methods.

What is a good mascara for contact lenses? I need a new mascara since my old one smells kinda funny. I wear contact lenses, have thin and short eyelashes, and needs a black mascara. I was thinking of buying Maybelline's great lash because i have a coupon but heard lots of negative feedback for it. Also, please only include mascaras that you can buy in drugstores. As much as I'd like to buy a DiorShow mascara, I can't afford $20 worth for a mascara. Thank you!
What is the best site to order contact lenses from? I've ordered my prescription contact lenses from 1800CONTACTS.com for years. They've been great, but lately, my money's been in a bit of a pinch and I'm just looking to see if there's another website that has good deals on contact lenses. Anyone know of one? I already use Focus brand and I have for years. I'm not looking to change brands. I'm just looking for a new place to order them. There isn't a Costco anywhere in my state...sad, but true...the closest Wal-Mart is a little over an hour away as well. I live in the middle of nowhere. Haha...

What can I do for contact lenses that go blurry while watching TV? I have astigmatism, and I have some BioMedics soft contact lenses that are quite comfortable. The only problem I have is that at night, after wearing them all day, when I'm watching TV one eye or the other always starts acting up. Going blurry on me and I have to keep putting the eyedrops in. I tried taking them out halfway through the day and letting them soak in their solution to see if it helped, but it didn't. Any suggestions?

What the best way to store contact lenses? What the best way to store and keep your contact lenses in good condition? I made a deep mark in one of mine somehow, and had to get a new one for my left eye. If you use too much solution, like have them completely soaked in solution for days, can it put pressure on the lense, expanding it, or making it less of the lense shape and flatter? Just a thought! Thanks for any input.
