lasik vision correction? i will be getting the lasik vision correction done on wens. it costs a lot more than i expected. i will be getting the traditional lasik done and not the "custom lasik". can anyone tell me from experience if i should save and get the custom done or should just get it now with the traditional. i've heard that some people have had issues with headaches and nightvision problems... ?! i was so excited this morning, but now i'm a little skeptical!

Lasik Vision Correction : Benefits vs. Risks? Recently I've had some GPC issues with my eyes and therefore haven't been able to wear contacts. I've been in glasses for some time and realize now what a hassle they are every day. My vision is such that I can't go without some sort of correction and although in the past I never would have considered Lasik, now I am wanting more information about it. I've read a lot about it but just wanted people's opinions on it and if you've had it done are you satisfied with the results or do you wish you hadn't ever done it? Actually I didn't abuse my contacts. I changed them like I was supposed to, went to the eye doctor annually and never wore them at night. I don't have a severe case but I won't be able to wear contacts daily like I used to. Contacts don't have to be abused to get GPC unfortunately.

I also have a astigmatisim i dont think its to bad i dunno. i wear soft toric contact lens, i can see pretty well. what are my options for lasik/lasek / whatever other form of vision correction. I am located in USA, from my own little research it almost as whoever has the best toys can help you the most. I am sure this stuff cost thousands and thousands, so i would expect all doctors dont upgrade everytime something comes out. But whats the newest stuff and is there anything to help me at the moment? Navy says sons eyes w/out contacts are below allowed,with contacts perfect,will they take him w/lasik surgery? Son passed physical at MEPS,has college degree, score 96.Without his contacts Navy said it was below what was allowed. They tried for a waiver, it was denied. With contacts he has 20/20. Can't get a answer from Navy, if he were to get Lasik correction to 20/20 would he get in.

How long before I can get LASIK vision correction surgery in the US Navy? Lets say that I am enlisting as a HM E-3, and get orders to FMTB at Pendleton for a 8404 (FMF Field Medical Service Technician) rating after A-School. I've taken some pre-op exams here and am very qualified, but I cant afford the surgery, and plan on using the navy to pay for it so I can go to spec ops after a few years as an 8404. I got a 93 on ASVAB and am physically qualified for the SO rating, just cant see very well (400). So about when would I expect to be able to get the surgery, assuming that I DO get the chance to go to FMTB for 8404? Thanks everyone I really appreciate all your help

How much does LASIK cost? I guess there are other forms of vision correction but LASIK is the only one I an familiar with. I don't have insurance so I would have to pay for it on my own (not a problem)

I have read the prk is being done more, and that it has fewer side effects than lasik. I have high blood pres? and I am in my 60s, would prk be better than lasik? And have they made a correction to make a bifocal correction yet?
What does the future hold for LASIK eye surgery? I'm going to school to become a commercial pilot. Obviously my career depends on being able to see 20/20 with or without correction (I'm 20/200 without contacts, slight astigmatism). I'm 30 years now but have considered eye surgery my entire life. (even RK back in the day). Obviously technology has improved by leaps and bounds. When LASIK rolled out I thought how could it get better than this? My best friend is a MD and he told me to hold off for a few years (this was 4-5 years ago) and now we have custom wavefront LASIK. I have had friends who've had both done with excellent results. Now with wavefront LASIK advancements, what else is on the horizon??? Are some stellar new techniques currently being developed that will roll out in the next 4-5 years? My eye doctor is suggesting PRK. Night vision problems could also end my career. I've heard there is less chance of reduced night vision (halos /startbursts) with PRK. The NAVY only allows PRK surgery for their pilots.

Lasik or PRK? I was told i should get PRK for laser correction...any pros/cons? I was told by my eye doctor that PRK is best for me, I could do Lasik if i felt strongly, but PRK is a better long term option. I hear it is extermely painful though. Can someone share thier PRK experience?

Laser eye surgery/Lasik problem -maybe.Concerned? I had lasik vision correction 3 weeks ago. I had to go & buy reading glasses to see far & near. Some days I don't even need them but 4 out of 5 times I need them by the end of each day & my eyes are exhausted. The surgeon has done 10's of thousands of the surgeries & has a 0% re-do rate. He has done a family members eyes with no issues. has anyone else had issues? I can't imagine going through this surgery & still having bad vision. oh & do you think it will hurt for me to be wearing the glasses while my eyes are healing?
Which is safer? "Traditional" Lasik or All-Laser Lasik? I have been researching Lasik eye correction, and some sites say that all-Laser Lasik isn't good because it creates "cavitation" bubbles in the corneal flap to expose the cornea. Which is safer - the traditional method that removes the corneal flap with a blade, or the laser method? What (if any) are the long-term ramifications of all-laser? Are there any "starlight" or reduced night-vision issues with all-laser, over and above the normal Lasik issues?

Eye correction techniques? A few years back I saw a news segment where there was a technique to correct bad eyesight not involving lasers. It somehow involved changing the shape of the eye (I think) and was only available in canada since the USDA wouldn't approve the procedure. I may be mistaken about some of the details.
