Any current sworn officers have any advice on this matter before I take the police exam?
Is there a medical reason I am more comfortable without corrective lenses? I had approximately 20/60 vision from the time I was born until the time I was 10, when I got glasses. I started wearing contacts at age 13, and now I'm 24. I sometimes have severe anxiety, and I realized last week that when I take my corrective lenses (contacts or glasses) off, I am much calmer. Is this a common sentiment?

How do I improve my eyesight without using corrective lenses or surgery? Hey guys, I'm only 19 years of age and I have really bad eyesight. About 1 year and a half ago, both my eyes were -2.50 each and I have astigmatism on top of that. I'm getting fed up with glasses and I just want to get rid of this nuisance. I believe that people who wear corrective lenses (glasses/spectacles) should get them for free? its discrimination and advatagous that ppl who do not have 20/20 vision (what ever that is) HAVE TO pay sometimes hundreds of dollars to correct their eye site while ppl who do not need corrective lenses can have hundreds of dollars more in their pockets? Isn't it important for ppl to see? wouldn't there be less accidents, mishaps and mistakes if eye care was free? PPL DO YOU AGREE?
Does your vision get worse faster over time if you wear corrective lenses? I heard that wearing glasses makes your eyes get weaker faster over the span of your life. I only wear my contacts occasionally because my vision isn't that bad, should I keep doing this???
Where can I buy eyeglasses without corrective lenses? Claire's used to sell glasses - a long time ago - that were just for fun. They wouldn't mess with your vision, but they looked like real glasses. Image distances sign conventions for corrective lenses? Is the image distance always negative for any type of corrective lens and if you are using a simple magnifying glass? That's what my professor said and I am confused about why this is? But for a microscope the image distance of the objective lens is positive because if you want the final image at infinity for the eyepiece lens, then the image of the objective has to be at the focal point?
can a cop ask you to verify if you are wearing corrective lenses? My friend got pulled over for illegal tint. He asked her for license & registration & after looking at her license he said "are you wearing corrective lenses", she said "no" so he said "are you wearing contacts" & she said yes.. next thing you know he puts his face towards her & wants to check. I'm getting contact lenses (it's MY choice, so don't tell me to do anything else, I want them, and it's not up to you.) and I was wondering if you can get cosplay Sharingan Lenses that are corrective too, in the UK? Corrective lenses restriction on drivers license: can cop ticket me for wearing contacts instead of eyeglasses I'm confused here about the whole "corrective lenses" restriction and how the police enforce such a thing. How would the police even know if you're lying about wearing contact lenses just to get out of getting a ticket for NOT wearing eyeglasses? I mean, let's assume someone IS wearing contact lenses instead of eyeglasses. Would the police look at the license, notice the corrective lenses restriction, and ask the driver why he or she isn't wearing eyeglasses? Could the driver just say he or she is wearing contact lenses and the cop just take the driver's word for it and leave it at that without issuing a ticket? Any of you with personal experience ever been given a citation for not wearing corrective lenses (either eyeglasses or contact lenses) while driving? What's been your experience with the corrective lenses restriction on your driver's license and/or how did the police react or how did they NOT react when looking at your license and/or corrective lenses restriction?
What do you think of Corrective Contact Lenses? I have about -2.5 (but I think right now it might be a -3). Are they a hassle? Do they hurt? Two years ago I wanted to get them but my optometrist didn't recommend I'd get them, why? Was she trying to suck more money out of me or something? I appreciate your answers..
Is it possible to get 20/10 vision or better with corrective lenses? Eye doctors prescribe glasses that get your vision to 20/20, but is it possible to get corrective lenses that will get your vision to 20/10 or better? Please explain why this is or isn't possible. People! 20/20 is "normal" vision! 20/10 means you can read the bottom most line on the eye chart.
What does "Corrective Lenses" mean? I heard this in Vegas Vacation with Chevy Chase when Rusty, the son, is playing craps and he is interrupted by a casino worker checking ID to see if he is 21. When he was done checking, he asked him if he needed corrective lenses. Does he mean a pair of glasses of some sort, or does it refer to something else? Please Help!

Private Pilot Checkride, Corrective Lenses? On my second class medical, it says I need corrective lenses. My vision is 20/20 in my left eye and 20/25 in my right eye, so technically I meet the requirements for a third class medical. My checkride is next week and I'd rather not wear my glasses, since they give me a headache anyways. Am I required to wear them even though I am not on a solo flight or exercising any private pilot privileges?
Does someone with 20/30-20/40 eyesight need corrective lenses? My doctor did an eye test during a routine physical and I couldnt see as well as I used to. I struggled through the line that signifies 20/30 vision and could see the 20/40 line very well. Do I need corrective lenses? corrective lenses that can give back 20/20 vision? not much of an advocate for laser eye treatment (too risky for my tastes), but how else could I obtain 20/20 vision once more (I have myopia (nearsightedness) now- got that by reading in the dark...)- I heard about corrective lenses that can give back 20/20 vision, though I thought that was only for presbyopia Just wonderin' now if theres a similar treatment for myopia, and if not, are there any other ways one can cure myopia? sorry for being vague previously, I was asking if there was a way one who has developed myopia could achieve 20/20 vision without glasses or contacts or laser eye surgery... I guess you are right about reading in the dark forming myopia, but to a certain extent (as far as I read, eyestrain is the leading cause for myopia, and reading in dark places does force one to strain their eyes a lot... then again I may be wrong...)- I was reading about the Bates method on improving vision, just wanted to know how effective it is, and are there other effective ways on curing myopia?
Anne is farsighted; the nearest object she can see clearly without corrective lenses is 2.4 m away.? Would you think I needed glasses/corrective lenses? I had a regular eye exam for a physical. I found out that I have 20/40 in one eye and 20/70ish in the other. I was wondering would this require glasses/corrective lenses (whichever you choose to call them)? I know by law to drive you have to have 20/40 in both, so I am just wondering. Any input would be appreciated. Yeah, thats the thing, I can read fine and drive fine. The only thing that gets me is the eyestrain every now and then, and the physical I took was a DOT thing, and they told me to pass I would need 20/40 in both eyes. I have never been one for glasses or contacts and was hoping I would need neither haha.
What are the requirements to become a correctional officer re: vision and corrective lenses? my boyfriend is trying to become a correctional officer and we are both concerned about his vision. He wears CCorrective lenses (contacts) which correct his vision to 20/20. We are concerned that, because his vision without corrective lenses is pretty much 24 hundred, that he would not be accepted into the academy or the corrections program. Does corrections require his non-corrected vision to be at a certain number, or does it not matter if he has good vision with his corrective lenses? I hope I am making some sense. Haha. I would appreciate it if I could have a link to a particular state corrections web-site that could show me or at least explain to me how that process works and if a person can get into CDC under his circumstances.Kalina
If you believe in evolution and corrective lenses? are you cool with the idea that humans could "evolve" into brains in jars with robot servants? Many say our intellect trumps our physical shortcomings - like poor eyesight - so, it's not a big stretch to imagine a future where machines have completely replaced our feeble and mortal bodies.
Do corrective lens make your vision worst? My eyes are getting very blurry. I find myself frequently squinting for better sight of something. I don't like using any corrective lens (glasses, contacts) but I feel like I have to. I heard that when you wear glasses or contacts, your eyes get worst. Does anyone know if this is true?
