How do you clean contact lenses and their case so you don't get infections? I have ones that you wear for 2 weeks, saline solution, and opti free moist disinfecting solution. I want to know exactly how to clean them and the case itself.
How do you clean contact lenses after crying while wearing them? I did quite a bit of crying earlier this week while wearing my contacts, and now they're feeling really dry and uncomfortable. Is there anything special I can do to clean them? I do wear soft contacts, and they soaked in solution all day Tuesday, as well as Wednesday and Thursday evening/night. They still feel as dry as they do at the end of a month's wear and it hasn't even been half a month yet. I really don't want to throw them out, these babies are expensive!

Can someone tell me everything I need to know about keeping my contact lenses clean? My mom just told me about what can happen if I don't take care of them well. And now I'm totally freaked. O.o Just tell me everything I need to do to keep them good and clean and have the best Hygiene with my contacts. Cleaning Contact Lenses? Right now for cleaning and caring for my contact lenses i use a daily cleaner, multipurpose solution (renu) for storing and saline for rinsing after cleaning. I've done some research and i found out using multipurpose solution for cleaning, rinsing and storing is more economical and much easier than using 3 types of solution. However my mom won't listen and she's convinced using all 3 works best (she also happens to be allergic to multipurpose solution, so she never used it more than once.) I've let her see proof that multipurpose solution is the best and most popular, given from how-to guide websites, contact lenses and cleaning solution websites and even proof from a few opticians but she won't listen. any help? I've also explained that using a multipurpose solution for only storing my lenses is a waste but she won't listen

Just got contacts, how to clean contact lens case? so i just got contacts today.... and went and bought some Opti-Free, the saline solution that goes inside the case to disinfect the contact lenses, and inside the box was this free contact lens case. I would want to disinfect the contact lenses case first because you might never know how dirty it actually is.... so should i just disinfect it with boiled water and just let it soak there for a few minutes? Questions about contact lenses, cleaning them, contact case? So this is my first time using contacts. I'm using the Freshlook Colorblends which are disposable contacts. I wasn't sure about how to clean them but I went to the store and they recommend the Clean Care solution. I know that Clean Care is an overnight kind of solution and takes hours to clean. So, I also bought another solution called "Softwear" Saline -which was actually recommended on the "Clean Care" box for times when I want to rinse off the lenses. My questions are: 1. How long can I wear Freshlook Colorblends disposeable contacts for? Can I wear them for longer than the 1-2 weeks recommended? How can I tell when I need to stop wearing them? 2. Should I use the Clean Care cleaning system every night to clean the contacts? 3. If I want to say.. take a nap for a few hours, I don't want to use the Clean Care method because it will take so long to clean. Is that when I would use the Soft Wear cleaning method instead? Would I just place them in the contact case with the solution inside? 4. What is the correct method to store contacts in the contact case and the correct way to remove them from the case and put them in my eyes? 5. colored contact lenses? Why is the regular contact lens prescription different than the prescription for colored contact lenses? Also what is the difference between the two prescriptions? Cleaning Soft Contact Lenses--Tips? Basically, I don't have the insurance right now to have an appointment and my old eye care doctor won't refill my prescription and refuses to give me what the prescription numbers for the lenses were without one. How to clean makeup off contact lenses? I've been havign this problem for a while. My mascara or whatever always gets on my contacts and makes them really dirty, and I have the one month kinds, so it's really annoying. I'm on my third pair of contacts this month because of that, and I can't keep buying six new pairs a month when they're supposed to last me half a year. I've decided to put my eyemakeup on before I put my contacts in my eyes, but I need ways to clean the pair I already have. Please and thank you! 10 points to best answer. (= I always put my contacts in first, but after reading a couple things, I decided to put them in after. I used waterproof mascara and nothing got on my contact. Whenever I put them in first, the makeup gets on them. And when I try wiping it off, it just smudges more and makes it worse. I can clean it in the solution as many times as I want but it doesnt come off. And i use Clear Care solution.

Storing contact lenses? I managed to insert, remove and clean my contact lenses for the first time successfully and they were fine. Basically, I just wanted some closure and confidence in how I have stored them. I placed each contact lens in the R and L accordingly making sure not to get them stuck on the edge, however I did not add the saline solution to either capsule of the barrell store case, I simply closed them then filled the jug of saline solution and did it up. Each capsule has holes in it so I assume they will get the solution on them, is this ok, or should I have applied solution into each of the capsules? I know this may seem like a stupid question, as the capsules do have holes in them so I do assume they get properly cleaned, I was just making sure as I have never worn contact lenses before.
Abusing contact lenses past their date plus other atrocities...? I've been wearing contacts for 5 years or so. I have been wearing disposable 2 weekers past their prime to around 3 months. I don't clean my contact lenses after every use, nor do i clean my contact lens case. Will I have corneal neovascularization? If so, how serious? Are my Corneas gonna be messed up? Am I susceptable to infection? I know I'm going to change my habits soon for sure though. Note that I wear my contacts for 8-12 hours daily. My eyes feel fine overall though.

I just really want my senior year (starting in the fall) to be different!

So i cleaned my contact lenses case with tap water.....? so today when i opened by contact lenses case in the middle of contacts was black dirt. immediately i took them out ... then i cleaned the case with tap water and right after i put my disinfecting contect lens solution in the little lense holders so they can disinfect SO 1. should i still use that case that i rinsed with regular tap water? (i didnt know i wasn't supposed- i thought the tap water rule applied only to the contact lenses themselves and im currently soaking the lense case in the stuff i disinfect my contacts with) 2. if i put my contact lenses back into the case i rinsed with tap water, should i keep using the contact lenses? Is it unhealthy to wear contact lenses since it does not allow your eyes to breathe? Alright, so we all know that contact lenses does damage to our eyes to some degree. No matter what advertisements say, something that's constant touching the most sensitive part of your exposed body is obviously unhealthy. I'm 14 this year and i really need contacts. I have had a Corneal Ulcer twice in my right eye, how do you take care of your contact lenses to prevent this? How do you clean your contact lense? When is the right time to take them out after school when i get home, because sometimes I would wear contacts untll i take them off before sleeping. My doctor Dr.David W. Gordon OD said the time period to keep the lenses is 1 to 2 weeks and then dispose them so my eyes are prevented from anything, like what i had twice a corneal ulcer. I wear them everyday sometimes even wear it for more than 14 hours from school morning to after school and untill 9,10 or 11 at night when i go to sleep.

Lint in contact lenses? Everytime I clean my contacts and all, I check and there's always a little bit of lint or a tiny hair inside, so I pinch it out and keep doing that. When I put them in it kind of hurts and I take them out, and there's a nother little hair. How do I get ALL of the lint out? Thanks! (Oh and I know how to rinse them with the solution)
How long do I have to leave my color contact lenses in the cleaning solution for?..anyone? :)? Contact lenses care yeah , I never sleep with my contacts on, but once I take them off, I always clean them up, and leave them inside their case with the cleaning solution..that's why I didn't know for how long. Contact lens and eye problems? My eyes can get red all of a sudden even though they don't itch or feel irritated or anything. How to use cleaning solutions for CONTACT LENSES? I normally use one a day lense but have had 2 pairs on monthly i never used till last week,. I wore them for one day then put them inthe Baush & Lomb Easy Sept solution., I need some reasurance that what i did was right. As when i added them to solution is was fizzing like acid type thing and some went down the plug hole which also sizzled. next day was all still. If this is correct and i dont where these lenses again for say 5 days do I need to change this solution EVERY day or only 24 hrs before using them again or are they ok in the solutuion added a week ago. Also do they need to be rinsed in a another type of solution before wearing them?? Thanks
Why do my eyes get red and sore while wearing contact lenses? They become really red, sore, and sensitive to the light. I have disposable lenses, and I'm not new to contacts- I've been using contacts for almost four years now. I take out my lenses and use erythromycin every-time this happens, but why does this happen? Is it cuz I don't dispose them on time, or because they're unclean? And other than disposing the lenses on time, how can I keep them clean and prevent this from happening? What's this black stuff on my contact lenses? So of coarse I put clean solution in my contact lenses case and put them in there and the next morning I put them in my eyes and after about half an hour in my right eye it's a little blurred and hard to see. Is it possible to clean, store and reuse daily disposable contact lenses? Don't worry, I'm not going to try it! I only ask because there's been times when I've stayed at a friends house after a night out, and luckily had spares lenses with me for the morning. Can I use soft multipurpose cleaner for yearly contact lenses? The contacts I just bought are Z6 and made out of polymacon. I'm wearing two-week lenses and got fitted for the Z6, which last a year, and I have a multipurpose solution cleaner for the two-week lenses. The box for the solution expressly says to use it with soft hydroph...(something) lenses, and the ones I have are soft but made out of polymacon, and last a year. So...can I use this solution for the yearly lenses, or will it damage anything?
