Is it alright to wear contact lens to the beach?

I'm going to go for my company trip and we're planning to go snorkeling as well. I was just wondering if it's alright to wear contact lens while you're at the sea? Or is it better to buy goggles with power?

1. You definitely should invest in the goggles with prescription. Salt water and contacts are not a good mix, just a breeding ground for bacteria. Have a great trip.
2. I know that they say its bad. But truth be told, everyone that I know who wears lens they have all been to that beach and swam with them. I personally have done it myself many times. its really okay.
3. I wore contacts for 10 years and NEVER took them out in the pool or at the beach. I wouldn't recommend opening your eyes in the water, though. I never had a problem.
4. Should be, don't open your eyes with them..and use the disposable ones..that way you put on a new pair, so you won't get any kind of eye infections from the salt water
