How long can I go without changing my contact lens solution?

I used to wear RPG contact lenses but has since stopped because I find them extremely uncomfortable and inserting/ removing them is such a chore. They are now in the lens case and have been there for the past 2 months. I haven't been changing the solution. =/ If one day I decided to continue using them, will it be safe? I told my optometrist about the problems and he keeps saying it's normal, but I find them extremely uncomfortable. Thanks

1. contacts solution is a chemical having expiry time after exposure to air -----so long in the bottle or container the solution has its life even for years---you have not specified what short of attempt you are trying to do-- and read--www.lpkfuse.com/down load/support/docs/man_c2pdf
2. I think only can keep up to 4 days without changing the solution. So after 4 days you should change.
3. I find them uncomfortable too . I think it's better to change the solution a least once a week .
