Why is the Daily Mirror such an appallingly bad newspaper?

I read it along with most of the dailies and am appalled at the poor level of journalism, Kevin Maguire in particular appears to write with idiots in mind. I don't mind what political views are espoused and enjoy hearing arguments from people with opposite views from my own providing there is intelligent thought behind the argument. This seems to be sadly lacking in the Mirror these days which is sad, it used to be a great newspaper many years ago.

7. It's a tabloid. Have you seen the standard of journalism in The Sun and the Mirror. They're written for people with a reading age of 5.
8. Just look at the owner and you can understand the reason for its political bias and useless crap.
9. The standard of journalism in the tabloids is pretty poor at the moment. It's mostly opinion stuff. You don't expect balance, but a bit of reasoned argument wouldn't go amiss. The Mirror has gone right downhill, you're right. I think it's just trying to compete in the market by patronising its readers. Sad that they think we're so stupid.
