Would mike ashley selling newcastle to the Nigerians be revenge on the fans?
A Nigerian consortium planning to bid for Newcastle needs to raise an "extra £50m to £100m" to buy the club, with owner Mike Ashley holding out for £400m. (Daily Mirror) So if this Cosortium is able to squeeze ever penny dry they have where is the money going to come from to pay for new players and a Good manager i wonder? I have some good guesses, They will hike the ticket prices up and use Newcastle like some kind of billboard like something you see on Phonejacker. My loyalty to Newcastle is unwavering and i will stand by them threw almost anything but if the O'Leary and Dalglish rumours were not enough this is really going to Far. It Seems Mr Mike Ashley is out for some serious revenge and how could he go any colder of a dish but to sign one of these guys as manager and Put a Nigerian consortium in charge of the club so they bleed it dry! Whats your ideas on this? Could this Nigerian consortium be anything but revenge and how can they afford to run a football club they cant afford to buy unless they take loans which they pay back by putting Newcastle into debt and selling the better players?

- lawl. Good question. Something makes moi think all that money is drug money. I mean hello its like the nigerians... Maybe you all could get free spliff? lawl... then it wont be half bad. hehe
- It's just rumours mate. I'm a Sunderland fan and whilst i'm having a jolly good laugh at all this I don't want it to get out of hand. It'd be a shame finally stabilising ourselves in the top league only for our local rivals to go down.
- I don't think Ashley is out for revenge, he's out for cash. Bought the club for £150 million and wants to sell it 18 months later for £400 million. He apparently lost £300 million betting on HBOS shares rising last week and then they collapsed and were bought out by LloydsTSB. Do the maths! He's trying to get some of his lost cash back and unfortunately he sees Newcastle as the cash cow. What a total w@nker he is and hopefully no other club has to ever see the day that he pretends to be their biggest supporter!
- At the end of the day who he sells to and who comes in as the new manager will be irrelevant as Newcastle fans would be lost without something to whinge about. Perhaps if the Newcastle fans put the blame on the Players & Kevin "i'll run as soon as i'm put under any pressure" Keegan rather than Mike Ashley he'd have been less inclined to sell as quickly, to be honest i think Newcastle deserve everything they get.
