I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I don't have much energy to do anything anymore?
Including walking my two big dogs. I know they need daily walks but the last time i tried to walk them I go so short of breath. Is this normal? I'm a house wife and I can barely clean my house anymore. What can I do to keep my energy up? I cried the other day because I had such a hard time walking the dogs.

- well your energy should come back soon. take it easy and rest. you should talk to your doctor too. just remember pregnancy isnt a disability, your only 5 weeks and have a long way ahead of you so try to just keep going. congrats and good luck
- get someone to help with the dogs and chores until your energy's up. Eat balanced meal, take lots of fluids and REST. It will pass after a while. goodluck
- I know exactly how your feeling this was one of the worst early symptoms i had with all of my pregnancy, i was totally unmotivated and drained and just wanted to sleep all the time, don't fight it and don't force yourself. your energy levels with eventually come back that is the good news, so make the most o fit when it comes back for now don't worry congarts x
- try not to get to stressed over it the first two months were the worst for me i slept on the couch all day for 2 weeks . just pace yourself and take it one minute at a time
- just wait...it gets worse at the end. theres not much you can do to get more energy unfortunatly being tiered is just one of the wonderful things brought on by pregnancy. your energy should start picking up in your 2nd trimester and then it will decrease on your third as you gain more weight and your belly gets bigger. good luck and congrats!!
- I hope you take a prenatal vitamin!
- hey hun, You need to drink lots of fluids & take prenatal vitamins already to give a bit of boost to energy system, Baby is taking all your energy to develop. You should get your energy back sooner than later. as it usually goes. Definitely get checked with doctor if your out of breath this early in pregnancy. god bless xx congratulations xx
- Wow that sounds like me. I have two dogs and used to take them running. I was almost 5 weeks pregnant when I found out that I was prego. I took them out with me the next day, but I walked and only jogged a little. Then my dog injured her leg that day by running into a barbed wire fence. I was in the middle of nowhere with no one to help me. I had to carry her out of there. Good thing she was only 35 pounds at the time. But even that got heavy after a while. I haven't taken them out since. I'm 10 weeks now. I'm just now starting to get some energy back. I'm going to try to walk them for 30 minutes a day. I also had the cleaning problem...and still kinda do. I use to clean every morning while my boyfriend was at work. But then I started to lose my energy. He would come home from work and clean. Just now in my 10th week I feel ok to clean. But the dishes are hard for me to do sometime. Like when we have leftovers and it's time to throw them out, the smell makes me sick so he has to do them for me.
