My desk is such a mess!!!!?

I have quite a large desk and have loads of paper scattered about the place, I have endless amounts of folders! I have tried so many different attempts at filing them, I just find it so time consuming . Does anyone have any ideas how to make filing easy?? I work in a daycare nursery, things I have to file include, colouring templates, activities ideas, daily/weekly/monthly/yearly plans, observations, childrens progress files, development sheets and so much more.... Ive tried colour coding, number coding but I always seem to end up in a muddle! Sam...I do not need a clear out...all my items are needed daily!

2. lable some folders take home/activities ideas/childrens progress files ecttry getting each labled one a dif. color (after a wile you will get used to each color) mabey get a filing cabnet beside your desk to help keep some things in certain drawers like all of the coloring templets in one and stuff like that good luck
3. Try organized piles. I know that does not help. That is what I do. I use three attached desks.
