Theoretically, how many days can I wear daily disposable contact lenses?
I know they are meant to be worn one day and then thrown away, but I generally don't even wear my contacts that often. I'm a competitive swimmer with terrible eyesight, and I usually have my glasses on, except when I am in the pool. I have my contacts on for 5 hours a day max, but it is usually more like 3 or 4. Can I save some money by treating these daily lenses as two week lenses? Or even one week? Obviously I would clean them every night like normal two week lenses..

- Just for one day. You can only use it for one day since you first used it.
- Unfortunately, no you can't. Because these daily disposables (I use them myself on occasion) are a thinner material, they cannot withstand the cleaning that you would have to do to wear them the next day. And you would have to clean them. I got my disposables recently - they were having a special - 30 pairs for $15.00... so they're really not all that expensive.
- Weather you should is another question, but you can. I often wear daily lens for 2 or 3 days (if treated with care, cleaned and placed in fresh solution). Quite often it depends on the type of daily lens, as some are very thin as pointed out can't withstand very much handling. Other better (pricer) bands are much thicker and fine to be used a few times especially if only worn for a few hours.
