Dailies Contact Lenses

Are Daily contacts flimsy?

So apparently I keep getting protein build ups in my eyes, so my doctor wants to switch me to daily disposable contacts. And, I was wondering if those are flimsier than the 2 week contacts. Can they rip or tear in your eye if you wear them too long? Up to how many hours can you wear them?

  1. I've worn daily contacts for about a year on and off and I've never had experience with them ripping. I've never worn two week contacts but I know some people who do and they can't tell a difference. If you have soft long wears then they should be about the same. You can wear them from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep but DO NOT sleep with them in, when i was younger, my mother left them in and had to get surgery to get them removed. So wear them as long as you'd like as long as you're awake, just no longer. Be sure to replace them like any contacts before they become uncomfortable. Good Luck!
