- Each time you get one, if you use hotmail, now they have a tab somewhere that says "Report as spam" or something like that. Click that, and the MSN admins will work on taking them down, one scammer at a time.
- Block them!
- It is hard to make then stop however your best bet is to set up filtering on your emails. If you use ms outlook you could also set up a rule and send them to junk folder.
- Report them as spam if you are using hotmail. If you are using Outlook, you can set filters to delete any emails with specific phrases in them. It is under Tools -> Rules and alerts.
- Use your spam blocker to keep them out, forward the ones that get through to the federal trade commission at spam@uce.gov
- Get some better spam filtering on your email account. You can't make them stop email you but you don't have to read it either.
- If you're using Outlook Express, go to the website of your ISP to get your mail. There you can report these as Spam & train your mail to catch them. You can also add to your blocked senders list. If you're really fed up, change your email address. I would just delete them/ignore them when you see them.
- There are entire schools in Nigeria dedicated to this sort of spamming. As more people find it profitable, and they do get a lot of money from doing this, you'll see more of it. Try changing your email address or marking them as spam.
- Filtration, my friend. Set up a filter in your email preferences and filter according to the content in the email (containing specific words or addresses). A better way to counter the spam is to redirect the emails back at them. With viruses attached. Let them have a taste of their own medicine.
- Actually, yahoo mail seems to be one of the best spam blockers. They database all the reported spam and simply stop it from bothering other recipients.
- In Nigeria, the laws are weak and the authorities are easily and often bribed. Little can be done to prevent these scams. To be quite honest, for a poor country such as Nigeria, these internet scams are a major source of "hard-currency"(US dollar, UK pound etc) for their local economy. The officials there simply "look the other way" About the best one can do is scambait the b@$^@#ds and have some fun in the process. "So what is scambaiting? Well, put simply, you enter into a dialogue with scammers, simply to waste their time and resources. Whilst you are doing this, you will be helping to keep the scammers away from real potential victims and screwing around with the minds of deserving thieves." "It doesn't matter if you are new to this sport or a hardened veteran; if you are wasting the time of a scammer, or frustrating them in any way well that's good enough for us, and we would welcome you to join with our now very large community."
