Is it okay to wear contact lens in the pool?
I'm going aqua jogging for the first time tomorrow, and I was just wondering. I wear soft contact lens, and I have terrible eyesight. Plus, I'm not a great swimmer - I'll be relying heavily on my floatie thingy. So should I risk infection into my contact lens (2 week ones, not dailies) or risk going blind in the pool?

- i wouldnt
- I where contacts and it is possible that they could come out underwater . I would say you shouldn't wear them in the pool but aqua jogging is different than swimming . If your going to do any underwater stuff take them out .
- It is OK to wear contacts in the pool. I am a lifeguard and many of my fellow lifeguard wear contacts in the pool. There is a few things you need to keep in mind when wearing contacts in the pool 1. Avoid opening your eyes in water without goggles on. 2. The chances of your dropping your contacts in the pool is the same or lower then dropping it on land. Even if you open your eyes in water, your eyes does not open all the way due the the water and other chemicals in water (in the case of a pool, chlorine) Out of 4 years of lifeguard, I never heard anyone drop contact lens in the water. So enjoy swimming with contacts on.
- You'll be fine, just be sure to clean them after you get of the pool. Assuming you stick your head under the water (and open your eyes).
