WoW Question: What is a "daily heroic"?

I just started doing heroics since I just turned 80 but am wondering what exactly a 'daily heroic' is? I hear the term all the time but how does it differ from regular heroics??

1. The "daily heroic" is the daily quest that sends you to a heroic dungeon. Daily quests are called "daily" because they can only be done once per day. The daily heroic changes from day to day, so you just have to check the quest giver. That's why you see so many people ask "what is the daily heroic", because they aren't near the quest giver and probably want to decide if they're in the mood for that particular dungeon or not.
