Wow I binged last night?

I usually eat between 1200-1350 calories a day and last night I binged really bad and im estimating my daily intake was anywhere from 3,000-3,600. I woke up at my usual 8am but didt get hungry until 11:30. I had about 800 calories today..I just dont have much of an appetite..is this okay? I weighed myself today and I havent gained anything..will I eventually if I go back to normal eating tomorrow?

  1. Your body needs more food thats why you couldnt stop eating..its crying for nutrients.
  2. prob, a lil obsessive with ur calorie intake tho. tho 1200-1250 is pretty gud, i was at a point where i had 100 cal a day. as long as the 800 thing isnt a daily thing, and it wasnt intentionall, dont worry bout it
  3. i do that all the time!!! it's not good though...i go days where i eat 3000 calories and the next day I eat 1000 and work out like crazy...I don't really gain or lose weight doing this though... it can't be good but sometimes it's so difficult to not binge...mmm food is soo good
  4. It's not the intake of any one day that counts in the great scheme of things. It's the average intake of a longer period of time that does it. So you ate heavy yesterday. Eat lower cal for a couple days, and it will all average out. You wouldn't have noticed a weight gain today because it wouldn't have amounted to enough to notice. You don't have much appetite because you are likely still full from yesterday. So fine. Don't eat until you are hungry, and then eat sensibly. In the future, if you expect to be in a situation where high calorie food is on the schedule, bank calories by eating lighter in the days before, and in the days afterwards. It's the average over a week or so you look at, not the intake of any one particular day. So relax. You can enjoy the cake, if you are smart enough to arrange things correctly.
  5. keep exsizeing
  6. 3,500 calories is equal to one pound. However, just "living" you burn calories. For example, I burn about 1400 calories - Basal (whether or not I get out of bed per day, just surviving) and 919 - Lifestyle (moving around, taking the train, etc.). If I exercise, then there goes an additional 300-400 calories I burn per day. If you calculate how many calories you take in per day without gaining or losing weight, you'll know how many ADDITIONAL calories you will need to take in to gain weight. So, if you were taking in 4000 calories per day and only burned 1400 per day, at the end of a 5-day week, you'll notice that you've taken in an additional 13000 calories (20,000 calorie intake - 7,000 calories burned) that may turn into pounds, appx. 3.7 pounds (13000/3500). This is obviously an extreme example. But, since you only ate an additional 1500 calories for the week, reduced your calories the next day (burned more than you needed, reducing the excess calories to 1100) and maybe exercised a few times during the week, then you won't see weight gain. After you understand how your personal body works and know what your basal metabolic rate is, then you'll know exactly how many calories you need to stay your current weight, lose weight, and (gasp) gain weight. Good luck.
