How do you tell if your soft contact lens is inside out?

I just got contacts yesterday, and they told me on the video and the doctor told me how to tell if my soft contact lens is inside out, and I thought i understood, but I came home, took them out, slept, woke up this morning, and while i was putting them in I couldn't decide whether they were inside out or not... anyone have any tricks or tips they use to tell? Thanks!

  1. The border kind of sticks out when it's inside out. It is harder to put in, and if you achieve to put them in, they are uncomfortable.
  2. hold it on the tip of yr pointer finger and if its shaped like a bowl (like it has kind of a flat bottom) its inside out..it might also have numbers on it 1-4...hold it up to a light and it it says 1-2-3-4 its right but if its backwards its wrong
  3. the little sides of the contact will be slightly bent. look at it and you'll be able to tell if something is wrong.
  4. ME TOO! Today is my first day with contacts and I couldn't tell if they were inside out of not. I found your question when I was searching yahoo. I found a webpage with instructions that I just printed out. Hopefully, it will help tomorrow morning. Good luck with yours. http://www.obrigcontactlenses.com/applylenses.html
  5. If you place it on the tip of your finger, look at the edges. If they look pointed on the edges, then it is inside out. If the edges look smooth and rounded, they are correct. Also, if you put them in inside out, your eye will feel like there is an eyelash in it. Take it out and flip it correctly.
