How long can you wear daily disposable contacts?

My mom was telling me how it was bad to wear my contacts for too long because my eyes won't get enough oxygen. I don't know if it's due to my contacts, but my glasses are now blurry and my prescription is supposedly the same. Thanks and I'm looking for how many hours it's okay to wear daily disposable contacts. Thank you all!

  1. Your eyes need at least 8 hours of oxygen a day, and this cannot be included in when you are sleeping. So really only wear your contacts for 8 hours a day, 10 absolute maximum. Your eyes wont 'fall out' if you keep contacts in for 24hours but they will get sore and itchy, and they'll be at higher risk of getting infected. You should get your glasses checked as I think contacts and glasses have a slightly different prescription normally (I'm absolutely not an eye expert though so worth seeing your optician)
  2. Generally, your contacts and glasses prescription WILL in fact be different than one another. Due to the fact that the contact sits a lot closer to your eye. For some people, one or the other will be more clear. If you are wearing your contacts everyday and not wearing the glasses, try switching it up to let your eyeballs get some more air! Wear the contacts for a day or two then put on the glasses, you may just have to let your eye re-adjust to the glasses. Oh, and you definitely don't want to wear the contacts all day long, like the other person said, maybe 8 hours tops. Hope this helps!
  3. If you wear them everyday, disposables will only last you about two weeks. The longest you can go wit the same pair is a month. You've probably worn out your contacts first of all. Second of all I recommend that you only wear your contacts during the day and wear your glasses at night. That way you don't dry out your eyes, wear out your contacts too fast, or risk falling asleep with your contacts still in.
