Do you regret something from your college years?

I'm 27 now, and when I look back at my college years I regret one thing: Watching MTV. I hate hip-hop, always have, so I never watched any music videos on MTV, but I watched all the reality shows. I regret being such a fan of shows such as "The Real World" which was nothing like the real world. I regret watching shows such as Cribs which only make people feel bad they don't have the stuff really rich do. MTV shows a gives young adults a really negative view of the world. Nothing I ever saw on MTV is something positive I want to put to use in my daily life today. I don't regret documentaries from The Discovery Channel and The History Channel. I actually learned many things I still like to remember having watched them. FORTUNATELY, as much MTV as I watched on my college years. I'm happy I never let myself be brainwashed enough for me to get a tattoo, or to take drugs, or to drink, or to do anything the MTV make you think is what you should be doing. What do you regret from college?

  1. I'm in college right now, and I'm afraid I'm going to regret a lot of stuff. I'm always studying and caring about school work, which is good up to a point. But I never go clubbing or to parties. Also, I haven't really made that many friends. Maybe 2 or 3.
  2. I smoked way too much pot, when I could've been studying or socialising.
  3. i don't regret hooking up with more than 100 girls. they tasted good any way.
  4. I am college student now and i regret the hours i spent on-line instead of on-books!!!
  5. DUDE! you have got this completely backwards. TV is such a waste of time! Drinking and smoking is GOOD FOR YOU because it broadens your thinking, as long as you keep it in check and do it responsibly (i.e. getting drunk on the weekends is good) yet keep yourself in check with studying! Now I bet you have even more regrets. It makes me mad when people say "If I start to drink or smoke, im gunna be a loser when im older" totally fuckin wrong!
  6. Sleeping with that one frat guy...and then telling my boyfriend. Good thing he forgave me. We're married now with a baby on the way. I guess I learned my lesson cause I never have the urge to be with other guys. I really appreciate how great my husband is.
  7. I am missing out on my college right now. I went on a terrible downward spiral and found my self as the leader of the compton piru blood gang now.
  8. I regret not studying more than I did. But college were fond memories for me.. a lot of pain.. a lot of growth. I did not watch tv for about a decade after I left for college, and did not own a TV. I also regret not learning about financial investments until later in life. Wow, I guess you really regret watching mtv huh? Sometimes the real world and mindless shows like that are relaxing and entertaining, but are counterproductive in many ways. Look on the bright side, you are young you have the whole world ahead of you. Its your oyster.
