- I had intralase lasik in september 2007, best $4000 I **EVER** spent (that included all follow up appointments)! It was uncomfortable but not painful and the only long term effects I've noticed is a slight increase in light sensitivity (polarized sunglasses are a perfect solution to protect my 'investment'!). There are 4 types of laser eye surgery, mine was the most expensive type but I had a very strong prescription and a lot of astigmatism. I now have *almost* 20/20 vision.
- It is safe but the most common side effect is dry eyes.
