  1. Well, it is saline, and I know saline is generally used in the form of eye products. I would assume it was the same thing and should be fine to use on your piercing. Although I would just reccommend a gentel antibacterial soap, thats what I always did. If you aren't sure, call the shop that pierced it, they will know.
  2. That should be fine, saline is 0.9% saline in water, and contact lense solution is a little more...but contact solution would work fine. Hope this helps.
  3. Saline solution is generally a sterile salt/water mixture, similar to tears or sweat. The similarity to natural body fluid is why it's recommended for rinsing a new piercing. It does not irritate the raw skin or introduce any unnatural elements. There are different types of contact solution. Some contain chemical cleaners/disinfectants. Some are peroxide based and turn into saline when the cleaning is complete. However, MOST are not the peroxide type. I would NOT use contact solution on a piercing. Go to your pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens, whatever) and just buy sterile saline solution. It comes in a bottle, sometimes in the First Aid section and sometimes in the eyecare section. Either location is fine, just make sure it's "Sterile Saline Solution"! However, I would ALSO use an antibiotic ointment on your new piercing like bacitracin or neosporin after cleaning -- I'm not sure if that was part of the care they advised you of, but I strongly recommend it.
