Dailies Contact Lenses

Is it okay to use disposable contact lens for more than one day?

I use 1-Day Acuvue Moist contact lens. I ran out of them today but I only have the pair I have on right now. I need them for tomorrow but I forgot to reorder more, so I did it last night and they will only arrive within 5-7 business days. I can't use my glasses because one of the lens fell out and I don't have time to fix it. Is it okay if I put the last pair I have on inside the small containers and reuse them tomorrow?

  1. My aunt used to wear her 1 day lenses for 2 days, but I'm not saying you should do the same. Up to you.
  2. No. Daily lenses are not meant or designed to be stored in contact lens solution over night. That is why they are called DAILY lenses. Maybe it is time you start keeping better track of when you are going to run out of contact lenses. But you certainly should NOT re-use a daily pair of lenses. Plus you are talking about putting them back in the original packaging with that old packaging solution in it ... not a good idea. And now I hope you also realize the importance of ALWAYS having a back-up pair of glasses on hand. If the lenses simply fell out, I would suggest you get to an optical and have them fix it and/or put the lens back in for you. If it is simply a matter of replacing a screw or putting the wire back around your rimless lens, it should only take a few minutes. Wear your glasses. Do not reuse the contact lenses.
