Why are people so obsessed with Don Imus instead of going after the real racists?

When hate groups like the kkk openly express their views, they're "excercising their first amendment rights", but when some washed up radio guy uses the word "ho" it's somehow worthy of national attention. As if the majority of people who are attacking Imus are blameless and don't use and condone words like "ho" and "b*tch" in their daily language and on tv. When rap artists use blatantly racist and sexist lyrics that are far worse than "ho", it's seen as "entertainment". So racism and sexism is justifiable if you're not a white male. The real racists must be really pleased right now that so many would overreact to something so petty. What Imus did was distasteful, but nobody can assume what Imus's intentions were based on the words he used. Not that anyone should feel sorry for Imus for getting fired, but it's just sad that people today would rather focus on pc, with all the more important things and real bigotry in the world like Darfur that don't make headlines.

5. I think he became a symbol of the cultural element that is satisfied with racism/sexism, and its immunity to both, along with a higher than average share of power. I think this is what they really hate, so they moved to take away the only thing they could, which was his power. There will be more token battles fought with token victims like Imus, but the real racism will continue to increase as long as this is so.
6. Why does it always seem as though its Black people who make the biggest stink about racial comments anyway? Its almost like they think that they're the only minority on the planet! There are Asians (like me), Middle Easterners, Latinos, etc..out there TOO you know! Sometimes I feel almost embarrassed for black people, the way their "representatives" portray them! And yes, you CAN say "AL SHARPTON DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME!" Well then hells bells, do something to SHUT THE MAN UP, because he makes it look like to the rest of us that he DOES SPEAK FOR YOU!!!! I don't feel too sorry for Imus. Yeah, what he said was stupid, but its no worse than any other 'shock jock' has said. Maybe he will do the smart thing and take his show to Satellite Radio the way Howard Stern did...he'll be out of the limelight and STILL make money... P.S.--I listened to that "2 Stew" show that's on Sharpton's internet show...I can't count the number of times those guys said the phrase "white boy"---talk about your double standard!
