Why my left eye hurts when I put my contact lens on?
I have no problem with my right eye contact, i dont even feel its something in my eye there. But when I put my left one on, it hurts. I rub my eye and about after 2 or 3 minutes, the pain stops, but throughout the day, the pain comes again in time intervals. The left eye contact is a disposable lens for 20 days and the right eye contact is also a disposable but for 2 months. This is because 3 months ago i ordered more pairs of 2-months disposable contacts but my stupid doctor says they still dont arrive so i have my original 2-month lens in my right eye and the disposable 20 days in my left eye i bought just for now. AND i dont use my contact for all day, i always remove them when im at home. PLEASE HELP

- Perhaps your left eye lens is thinner and dries faster. Even before insertion, the time it is on your finger, it may be enough to dry it out. If you use a rewetting drop, fill it into the lens cavity and insert with it. Else you can instill the drop over the lens immediately on insertion. You may re-wet the same way after half a day again. I guess this will help if issue is with dryness. Optom.Rajesh Wadhwa (Optometrist, New Delhi,India) Guest Faculty-AIIMS, New Delhi Guest Faculty-IGNOU, New Delhi M.Optom.
