- I don't see why not, as long as you can still see. Just take them out at night!
- As someone who uses contacts, I seriously do not recommend you using your contacts for longer than prescribed. I mean, I've used 2 week contacts for up to a month or so, much for the same reasons (expensive), but it always ended up causing irritation and problems so I decided that my eyes are more valuable than having contacts. Especially since you have the daily ones, you can't really push it. When you use contacts, you should always have a pair of glasses to go along with your contacts for whatever situation that you can't or don't need or don't want to wear your contacts. Contacts are expensive, but I wouldn't risk further damaging my eyes to squeeze some more use out of my contacts.
- It's not like they explode after one day, but you have to be sensible. If your eyes get red, take them out and wear your glasses. In general, Focus Dailies won't last longer than a day. The others probably will. Use a good multi-purpose solution to clean and store them.
- The problem with trying to stretch the wear time of a pair of soft contact lenses is that they tend to allow the development of bacterial growth that can cause a raging eye infection that can cause blindness. If you want to take that risk with your eyes, that is up to you. However, you can spend a little more money and getting yourself into a pair of rigid permeable (hard) lenses that could last you for years. Talk to your eye doctor about your options, but DO NOT try to extend the wear of daily lenses.
- Everyone, including me will tell you that over-wearing your contacts is NOT recommended...... however, i used to wear my 2 week acuvue oasys for MONTHS without a problem! I even slept in them most nights-- stupid, i know! I recently had lasik & would highly recommend it! I say go ahead and try wearing them for longer. Just be very good about taking them out at night. Take them out if you have ANY slight sign of eye irritation. You dont want a corneal ulcer for goodness sake! Best of luck to you!
- No way you can do that, I mean it's physically possible but it's really bad. You will end up with an infection if you stretch them out that bad. Next time purchase bi-weekly contacts, they are much cheaper than dailies. You can get a serious infection is you stretch the date of dailies, the max you should do for dailies is around 3-4 days. But never extend it, I've worn and I even fit contacts for others, I've also helped people who come see me (optometrist) because they can't figure out what's wrong with their eyes, and the problem is over wearing them. Trust me, an optometrist and someone who has worked in this field for all his life, when I tell you not too. If you have glasses, wear them instead until you can get bi-weekly contacts. I know people here are telling you it's okay that you can, but they're wrong. They will soon get problems with their eyeballs. Do not do it, they are not licensed professionals like myself. The problem with over wearing them is the bacterial growth, especially with dailies. If you're lucky, all you'll get is an infection, and if you're even luckier you'll treat it before you lose your vision permanently.
