How to improve concentration and memory??
I have to prepare for a really difficlut exam.But my concentration is so poor..theres nothing much to distract me also, its really bad...and when there are real distractors i cant study a word!! I go for walks daily its not that i dont have any physical activity .I am alone most of the times so no one to disturb also...what do i do?? Also the memory is so bad...that may be due to poor concentration itself!

- You need to exercise your brain like you do your body. There is not quick fix. Work brain teasing puzzles, read, an analyze. With time your memory and concentration will improve.
- try word association, using acronyms, they say taking ginko helps memory , flash cards, writting things you need to memorize down 10x in a row.
- Invest in aromotherpy products. There are some things like a nasal sniffer that has aromotherapy scents to associate. (I've found them like a earth saver stores and a few bath & body shops). To make your own, use peppermint (increases oxygen to the brain[gum, oils scanted on tissue and place in shirt pocket], rosemary, black pepper. Use these scents while studying and associate the scent with the information. When you need to recall the information, take a sniff/whiff of it. Also invest in those sound wave CDs that play like classical/instrument brain waves music (not the metaphysics stuff) while studying also. Recalling tunes while taking the test should enhance your skills.

- First clear your head by making sure you get enough sleep and good nutritition. If you are unhealthy, this will affect everything in your body including your memory. Drink at least 8 glasses of water. Eat 5 vegatables a day and make sure you see a doctor to ensure you don't have a sinus infection or a head cold as these will make your mind cloudy. Stay away from caffeine and sugar. Exercise 2-3 a week by walking at least 2 miles or try riding a bike at least 5 miles. After you get back to health back, read, read, read!!! Try memory games like card concentration. Chew sugarless cinnamin gun while you study. Cinnamin is known to increase your memory. Remember, this may take more than a month so keep at it.
