Dailies Contact Lenses

How long can i wear daily disposable contact lenses for?

I have daily disposable contact lenses and i want to know if i can wear them for more than one day. and if so, how long until they really become no use? 1 week, 2 weeks? i'm running out of contact lenses and my eye doctor appointment isn't until 2 weeks. Unless i can buy -1.75 contact lenses at a store, i want to use the one pair i have left for as long as i could.

  1. if your contacts are daily disposable ones you should only wear them for a maximum of eight hours each day and make sure you take them out afterwards. Never use the same pair again because it could cause infection and other problems, that's why they are daily because they are a lot more hygienic and not made to be worn for more than one day. also If your under 16 you should aim to wear them 2-3 days a week because yours eyes are still growing and it reduces the oxygen in the eye. If you are over 16 you can wear a new pair each day for the whole week but make sure you have eye drops so if your eyes get sore or irritable from the contacts it stops the dryness and keeps your eyes moist and healthy. The only way you can wear the same pair of contacts each day is to buy 'extended wear' ones, these are made specially so you can wear them more than one day.
  2. There is a good chance that the doctor's office you made the appointment with will give you enough trials to get you by. The doctor would prefer to evaluate you when you have been wearing lenses the way they are intended to be worn.
  3. Daily disposable contact lenses are designed to be worn for one day only. I would recommend reaching out to your eye doctor, explaining your situation, and asking if there is earlier availability for your appointment.
