How do you really know if you are going to Heaven, I mean really know. Considering...?

How do you know you are saved? The most common answer: because I believe in GOD. The Bible says that even the demons believe in 1 GOD (James 2:19), so what real good will that do you? Do you know that the Bible also says that Faith (or belief in JESUS CHRIST) without works is dead (James 2:20). Now to understand what GOD is saying here is very important, and your salvation depends on it. Please hear the words of JESUS when HE talked to Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee (a religious leader). HE told him that unless a person is born again, he cannot see or enter the Kingdom of GOD (John 3:1-3). I earnestly desire that you understand this because there is so much confusion surrounding this part of GOD’S Word. Understanding this is important because in this part of GOD’S WORD we find out how to be truly assured of Salvation. Somewhere along the line people started to misunderstand and misinterpret the Bible. Now because of this many people are not even sure how to get saved, also many people are not sure of their Salvation, but most people are just flat out deceiving themselves into thinking they are SAVED. Whatever the case may be I desire everyone to understand (and not be deceived) how to have Salvation and spend all eternity with JESUS CHRIST in HEAVEN. Now to understand this, again we take the words of JESUS when he talked with Nicodemus and HE said a person must be born again to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Let’s notice what JESUS did not say, HE did not say you could be a good person and go to Heaven, and notice JESUS did not say that if you went to church you would/could make it to Heaven, and HE definitely did not say that another religion could save you. For JESUS said HIMSELF that HE was the way the Truth and the life, and that no man comes to the FATHER except through HIM (John 14:6). Now again what did JESUS say, HE said that A PERSON MUST BE BORN AGAIN TO ENTER GOD’S KINGDOM. Now what does it mean to be born again, and how do you know you are born again so you can enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Let me answer this for you and then please go to the Bible and check it out for yourself, and you be the judge. Now to be on the way to truly being born again your first step will be to admit your need for a Savior, because you are a sinner, for the Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD (Rom 3:23). Your second step is to repent, and to repent is to turn away from the life you are now living, and turn your life to GOD and live a new life in CHRIST JESUS, for JESUS said to those who came to HIM and wanted to follow HIM that they needed to deny themselves and take up their crosses daily and follow HIM (Luke 9:23-26). As you see JESUS tells us HE is a daily choice that involves laying your life down in order to have a new life. You see in those days when someone picked up their cross that meant that they were going to walk the road to the place where they would be crucified on that cross, and they would not be coming back alive!!! Again JESUS said to those that came to HIM “to count the cost before following HIM” (Luke 14:25-33), because again, it did and does involve you laying down your life to the LORDSHIP of JESUS CHRIST. After this your next step the Bible says, is to confess with your mouth the LORD JESUS, and believe in your heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead and you will be saved (Rom. 3:23). Now once you have done all this JESUS said that the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD would come into our lives (John 7:37-39). Now how does this happen? Well it is a SUPERNATURAL change of the heart and mind. This is an invisible change that takes place inside of you the moment you give your life to CHRIST unconditionally. But there is a way we can tell if we are saved or not, and that is to take once again the words of JESUS. JESUS said that we would know them by their fruit, and that a good tree would not produce bad fruit & a bad tree would not produce good fruit (Luke 6:43-45). JESUS is talking about us here, and the fruits are the things that come out of us, like our actions and our behaviors and even the ways in which we think. The Bible says that when we are in CHRIST we become new creations in JESUS (2 Corinthians 5:17), that the old things (or ways) would DIE, and a new life would begin. So you see that GOD’S WORD is very clear to us on this point, and is saying to us that if we are truly BORN AGAIN we will think different, act different, and even see things different, YOU WILL, EXPERIENCE A DRAMATIC CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE!!! Please listen to what GOD is saying here, and listen carefully, this is your SALVATION I AM TALKING ABOUT HERE. If at one time you prayed the sinner’s prayer and you have not had a dramatic change happen in your life, “I mean a dramatic overhaul in yourself and in the life you live”, then something is wrong. So you see the works and the fruits that the Bible talks about, come from an INDWELLING OF GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT LIVING INSIDE OF YOU WHEN YOU ARE TRULY SAVED. For JESUS says that “every branch (meaning us) abiding in ME will bear much fruit” (John 15:1-5). PLEASE examine yourself and your life and ask yourself, “Am I really saved, and when I die will I truly inherit eternal life with JESUS CHRIST in Heaven forever, or am I deceiving myself?” The GOOD NEWS is that even if you are not right with GOD, you can turn right now from that old life (REPENT) and have a new life with JESUS CHRIST, and GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT LIVING INSIDE YOU AND CHANGING YOU EVERY DAY. Turn to CHRIST with your WHOLE HEART, and make HIM LORD over your life and get ready to become a new CREATION. If you turned your life to CHRIST after reading this then PLEASE start PRAYING daily, and have a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST who loves you so much, HE died for you on a cross (John 3:16) about 2,000 years ago. Please start praying to JESUS and asking HIM to lead you to a Bible believing church that holds GOD’S HOLY INSPIRED WORD the Bible as the final authority on your life, then please GROW in GOD’S word daily and in personal fellowship with JESUS CHRIST, and I will see you in Heaven.

  1. According... to alot of people because I am an atheist... I will go to hell... the only option I have to not go is to repent and pray for forgiveness... like hell I'll do that...
  2. I'm not reading all that but no one could KNOW any such thing.
  3. When I die, I will most probably go to the morgue first....
  4. wow highlander you really need to search your soul and let God in he's loving.
  5. Is your life changing? If you believe and your life consistently grows and changes into his character?Even then would you question your salvation? Doing the will of God is the most important thing anyone can do and I believe that leads to eternity with him in heaven....
  6. Just what you said ,I am an SDA and have been for 7 yrs since my baptism 06/01/00
  7. Yes, when my life here on this earth is done, I will be going to heaven to be with the Lord for eternity By faith, I have claimed Him as my Lord and Savior and entered into baptism for the remission of my sins. He has already blessed my life on this earth, and I can't imagine the magnificience of spiritual life as He describes it in His Holy Word, the Bible. I worship in a church founded in His Word with wonderful Godly people who love and care for one another. Doesn't get any better than that.........
  8. FAITH, if you ask the question how do you know if your going to heaven if you ask that then your not, you'll be here on this Earthly Paradise
  9. I have commited the unforgivable sin (not accepting Jesus and God). I'm going to hell for sure, nothing can stop me. FORGIVING? MY BUTT!!!
  10. You can never know for sure. Just take faith and peace in the fact that Jesus has died for your sins, paving a path in which you can follow. ' If you want to be saved just say in your head or aloud if you wish: "Jesus, I love you and accept you as my savior. Please forgive me for my sins so that i may inherit the kingdom of the Lord"
  11. You wasted your 5 points for this just to tell me if I really know and I do not need mankind asking me this Search your own heart and you will know the truth and yes Jesus has promised this to me not man
  12. I just want to know how you ramble that long without the 'added details' showing all the way through? hmmm....:-? And since I'm here, answer to your question...the only way is up!
  13. Amen. Preach on. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with POWER, with the Holy Spirit and with DEEP CONVICTION. 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 I agree its more than a sample prayer that saves you. If you are really saved, it is a totally new life. I think this is a major problem in America. With 80% to 90% claiming to be Christians, something is not right with all of the abortion, homosexuality, violence, hate, obscenities etc running rampant in this country. People who think they are being good enough to be saved without accepting Jesus unconditionally, may have a big shock coming. Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21 Everyone should search their heart and unconditionally give their lives to Jesus, giving up their sinful lives, before it is too late.
  14. I have to agree with Rocky. After years and years of searching and study of many texts.(Including the Bible for over 10 yrs.) I closely agree with Albert Einstein and his Pantheist understanding of GOD. Although I do feel that our relationship is a very personal one. We need to realize for one that the Bible that we read KJV or any other was greatly altered by Constantine and Catholicism many years ago in order to control the Christian population into fighting for Romes causes. Jesus' teachings were Kabbalistic but not the watered down public version you hear about today. Gautama Siddhartha said it best on his death bed to his best friend and disciple.(All things organic decay, seek out your own salvation with diligence). Note: There are less than a hand full of religions that believe in eternal damnation and who could TRULY love a GOD that would send you to such a fate? If you have children could you send them there? If so then please define LOVE for me because I must have missed something in the translation. Why can't we learn to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do and not because of some consequence if we don't. Are we reverent to consequence or reverent to GOD?
  15. May God Bless you! We need more people to tell others the true gospel. Here is a test to see if someone is a true Christian based on 1 John 1-5 Test to see if you are a Real Christian The bible says, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5) Here is the test 1)After you prayed a prayer and took Jesus into your life is it ok to deliberately keep sinning? The answer is NO! Our salvation is not a license to sin. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:4) If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrew 10:26-29) 2)Do you claim to have fellowship with Jesus but walk in darkness? This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. (1 John 1:6-7) 3)Do you claim to be without sin? If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. (1 John 1 8-10) 4)Do you claim to know Jesus and do what he commands? We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1 John 2:3-4) 5)Do you try to be like Jesus in the way he lived? Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) When we want to be like someone we imitate their actions. Do you live the way that Jesus showed us? When we walk like Jesus did, then we do not make provisions to sin. We exceptional do not pay to sin. 6)Are you growing in Christ? Was there every a time in your life that you loved the Lord more? Once we have the fire for God, we will never lose it. People who fall away from God never knew Him! Once you know Jesus you will never want to fall away. The life Jesus has for us is so much better then any other life style. Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining. (1 John 2:8) This passage means that we already have evidence of God in our lives. Once we come to God we start passing away from the darkness into light. 7)Do you love all Christians? Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him. (1 John 2:9-11) When this passage says brother, it is saying brother in Christ. A brother in Christ is a fellow Christian. We are supposed to be one in love with other believers. If we do not love, but hate we do not know the God of love. We are never supposed to hate other people in Christ. We are only supposed to hate evil. 8)Do you love the world or anything in it? Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17) Do you love you earthly possessions more then God? Do you give to others in need? Do you realize that everything you have is a gift of God? Do you love money over God? Do you seem to never be satisfied and always want more? Possessions of the world, no matter have many you have, will never satisfy. Only God can fill or emptiness. 9)Which list describes your life more? List 1: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) Or list 2: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:22-23) Notice this list did not say the fruits but the fruit of the spirit. This means you either have all of the fruits or you are not on this list. So how did you do? If you failed one question you might need to examine what the bible is telling you. We are not supposed to compare ourselves with Christians. We are supposed to compare ourselves with Jesus. Just because you prayed a prayer one day does not mean you will go to heaven. The bible does not say that anywhere in it. Being a Christian means you are conforming to God and not the world. It means you are giving up your life and following after God. If you believe this message is wrong email us and show us in the bible where we are wrong. We will repent and ask God for forgiveness. But if you cannot prove this message wrong maybe just maybe that God is trying to get your attention. Right now I plead with you to just start praying to God and tell Him what is on your heart. There is no magic prayer that will save you. We are to put our faith in God not a prayer.
  16. Our Lord founded a Church (Matthew 16:18-19), not a book, which was to be the pillar and ground of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15). We can know what this Church teaches by looking not only at Sacred Scripture, but into History and by reading what the earliest Christians have written, what those who've sat on the Chair of Peter have spoken consistently with Scripture and Tradition, and what they've solemnly defined. To believe that the Bible is our only source of Christian Truth is unbiblical and illogical. During the Reformation, primarily for doctrinal reasons, Protestants removed seven books from the Old Testament: 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Wisdom, Baruch, Tobit, and Judith, and parts of two others, Daniel and Esther. They did so even though these books had been regarded as canonical since the beginning of Church history. When examining the question of what books were originally included in the Old Testament canon, it is important to note that some of the books of the Bible have been known by more than one name. Sirach is also known as Ecclesiasticus, 1 and 2 Chronicles as 1 and 2 Paralipomenon, Ezra and Nehemiah as 1 and 2 Esdras, and 1 and 2 Samuel with 1 and 2 Kings as 1, 2, 3, and 4 Kings—that is, 1 and 2 Samuel are named 1 and 2 Kings, and 1 and 2 Kings are named 3 and 4 Kings. The history and use of these designations is explained more fully in Scripture reference works. "To get the full flavor of an herb, it must be pressed between the fingers, so it is the same with the Scriptures; the more familiar they become, the more they reveal their hidden treasures and yield their indescribable riches."-- St. John Chrysostom, A.D. 347-407 The Process of Lectio Divina A VERY ANCIENT art, practiced at one time by all Christians, is the technique known as lectio divina - a slow, contemplative praying of the Scriptures which enables the Bible, the Word of God, to become a means of union with God. This ancient practice has been kept alive in the Christian monastic tradition. Together with the Liturgy and daily manual labor, time set aside in a special way for lectio divina enables us to discover in our daily life an underlying spiritual rhythm. Within this rhythm we discover an increasing ability to offer more of ourselves and our relationships to God, and to accept the embrace that God is continuously extending to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Lectio - reading/listening THE ART of lectio divina begins with cultivating the ability to listen deeply. When we read the Scriptures we should try to imitate the prophet Elijah. We should allow ourselves to become women and men who are able to listen for the still, small voice of God (I Kings 19:12); the "faint murmuring sound" which is God's word for us, God's voice touching our hearts. This gentle listening is an "attunement" to the presence of God in that special part of God's creation which is the Scriptures. THE CRY of the prophets to ancient Israel was the joy-filled command to "Listen!" "Sh'ma Israel: Hear, O Israel!" In lectio divina we, too, heed that command and turn to the Scriptures, knowing that we must "hear" - listen- to the voice of God, which often speaks very softly. In order to hear someone speaking softly we must learn to be silent. We must learn to love silence. If we are constantly speaking or if we are surrounded with noise, we cannot hear gentle sounds. The practice of lectio divina, therefore, requires that we first quiet down in order to hear God's word to us. This is the first step of lectio divina, appropriately called lectio - reading. THE READING or listening which is the first step in lectio divina is very different from the speed reading which modern Christians apply to newspapers, books and even to the Bible. Lectio is reverential listening; listening both in a spirit of silence and of awe. We are listening for the still, small voice of God that will speak to us personally - not loudly, but intimately. In lectio we read slowly, attentively, gently listening to hear a word or phrase that is God's word for us this day. Meditation ONCE WE have found a word or a passage in the Scriptures which speaks to us in a personal way, we must take it in and "ruminate" on it. The image of the ruminant animal quietly chewing its cud was used in antiquity as a symbol of the Christian pondering the Word of God. Christians have always seen a scriptural invitation to lectio divina in the example of the Virgin Mary "pondering in her heart" what she saw and heard of Christ (Luke 2:19). For us today these images are a reminder that we must take in the word - that is, memorize it - and while gently repeating it to ourselves, allow it to interact with our thoughts, our hopes, our memories, our desires. This is the second step or stage in lectio divina - meditation. Through meditation we allow God's word to become His word for us, a word that touches us and affects us at our deepest levels. Prayer THE THIRD step in lectio divina is prayer: prayer understood both as dialogue with God, that is, as loving conversation with the One who has invited us into an embrace; and as consecration, prayer as the priestly offering to God of those parts of ourselves that we have not previously believed God wants. In this consecration-prayer we allow the word that we have taken in and on which we are pondering to touch and change our deepest selves. Just as a priest consecrates the elements of bread and wine at the Eucharist, God invites us in lectio divina to hold up our most difficult and pain-filled experiences, and to gently recite over them the healing word or phrase God has given us in our lectio and meditation. In this prayer, this consecration-prayer, we allow our real selves to be touched and changed by the Word of God. Contemplation FINALLY, WE simply rest in the presence of the One who has used the Scripture word as a means of inviting us to accept a transforming embrace. No one who has ever been in love needs to be reminded that there are moments in loving relationships when words are unnecessary. It is the same in our relationship with God. Wordless, quiet rest in the presence of the One who loves us has a name in the Christian tradition - contemplation. Once again we practice silence, letting go of our own words; this time simply enjoying the experience of being in the presence of God. "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." -- St. Jerome, A.D. 340-420
  17. you have to accept jesus christ as your savior, and believe that he died on the cross for our sins. thats how you know if your really really really going to heaven someday. if you are a believer in christ and have faith in Him, than you will get to know Him and end up in his kingdom in the after life. also, our life on earth is very short and you have more to come- a great life with jesus.
