  1. TOTAL SPAM! And possibly a virus. I wouldn't open the email if I were you (oh! sorry! you already did)
  2. I have had that email 5 times... You can not win something you did not sign up for.. so that being said it is not ligit!
  3. The only legitimate aspect of that notice is that they have a system of collecting e-mail addresses. If you respond you confirm they found a valid e-mail address - yours - you 'll be inundated with spam e-mails. Otherwise, it's untrue. Sorry kiddo.
  4. It is a SCAM! There has ben people who have got stuff like that before and they were the ones who had too pay up instead of winning anything. And they had too pay alot of $$$$$$
  5. If you don't pay money to enter a lottery, it most certainly is a scam. Here are the hallmarks of a lottery scam: You never paid money or bought a ticket to enter. Your "winning" notification is probably not personalized. Your "winning" notification came by email, probably from a free email address such as yahoo.com or msn.com. The way this scam works is, if you respond to the email, after one or two email exchanges with the so-called "lottery officials" or "claims agent," perhaps accompianied by some official looking but fake documents, you will be asked to pay fees for "taxes" or "handling" or some other reason. This is the scam, you pay the fees and never see any winnings, mainly because there are none to see. Source(s): www.fraudwatchers.org
  6. Apart from the previous answers, here's another way to tell it's fake, this is part of the 'disclaimer': "The Microsoft proudly sponsors the free lotto Awards Corporation, the Intel group. Toshiba, Dell, computer. Mackintosh and a conglomerate of other international IT companies." The company name MICROSOFT doesn't have the word THE as part of its name, and they have spelt MACINTOSH with the additional letter K.
