How do you get rid of those nigerian, lottery, job offer email scams that are always from foreign country?

I get multiple of these stupid email scams daily recently and can't get rid of them. Is the only way to stop them to change your email address? I'm getting so frustrated that I feel like responding with something rude, but have always heard that you should never respond or they will never stop. I don't know how they got my address. Make them stop please!!!!!!!!!

2. report these e-mails to the following website... www.spamcop.net
3. Filters work good for me. On your mail page, click on "options" (upper right)--then scroll to and click on "filters". On that page--click "add". Now, set up your filter using specific words to identify the unwanted mail (like---lottery--nigeria--job offer)---or whatever you think applies. Choose a folder such as trash or bulk--or make a new folder if you wish, and then click "add filter". Any mail containing the key words should by pass the inbox and go directly to the folder indicated. Good luck.
