do you think that they were right to arrest this man for helping a old lady in Saudi?

The daily Arab News reported on Monday that a Nigerian convert to Islam was jailed in Riyadh after he helped a sick 63-year-old woman and was then accused by the religious police of immoral behaviour. Ibrahim Mohammad Lawal, a student of Islamic studies in Riyadh, took the woman, who is his neighbour, to hospital after learning that she needed medical attention......i think its just stupid rules in islam Red d they are Islamic sharia law

1. obviously i need to more on the story but i dont know y ure blaming islam..islam says we have to be just and fair.its the saudi government that are cruel not islam.

Hasn't it got through to people yet that the middle East is controlled and populated by complete raving NUTTERS and that includes Israel Ps I heard a few months ago that Iranian police would arest and fine iranians with fashonable weston hair cuts and close down the salons that create them. they are complete wacko's
3. I guess the woman wasn't muslim and therefore wasn't worth saving in the eyes of Islam.
4. So, I read a lot of people who have a problem with people coming to our country and not abiding by our rules and customs. Why then should we go to another country and completely ignore their customs and laws?
5. No they weren't. I don't know ALL the details, but from what I've read it is just another example of the disgusting backward culture that most of the middle east lives with. And before everyone accuses me of being racist and blocks me or whatever, then please at least justify why you can defend their cultures first? These are cultures that still treat women as second class citizens. Fair enough. They stone women for as minor a thing as 'offending a mans pride' (there was one incident even in India where a girl had acid thrown in her face just for turning a man down, and this was considered normal!) But hey, you can defend that, right? Theres is a culture DOMINATED by religion! Even to the point were religious authorities force their views on everyone and impose their own twisted sense of justice above and over the laws of the government. For example (and the BBC/panorama have done a few documentaries on this) Saudi has what they call a 'morality' police, which is nothing more than a group of fanatical nutjobs without any official sanction acting on ANY transgression against the moral code of their religion, but with noone able or willing to stop them. One example is of a woman (again the BBC did an expose on her story) who for transgressing once (I can't remember what she did first, it was showing her face in public or holding hands with someone or something like that) she was kidnapped off the streets, tortured and raped in the 'morality' police's cells, then released and told not to do it again. She did 'transgress' again (I think the second time she fell in love with someone she wasn't supposed to) and was this time hanged to death. But I suppose you are going to say 'that's their culture, innit?' These are just MINOR examples of 'culture' in the middle east, not just Saudi. Well I am proud of the fact that I find behaviour such as this reprehensible and proud that I think ANY culture that endorses this does not deserve to survive into a modern world.
6. No. The Muttawa are a bunch of rabid morons who give Islam a bad name. Along with the other terrorist nutters who do the same.
