Flash in the real world?

What are some of the basic skills a flash developer is expected to put to use on a daily basis? I assume that every nuance of the language isn’t used on a day to day basis( I could be wrong..lol). I’d love if a flash developer would fill me in on the day to day occurrences of their profession. Thanks!
