- For LASIK surgery, your correction is too high. You can do LASIK (if the surgeon feels comfortable treating that high of a correction) but you will not get a full correction - you will still need to wear contacts on glasses but your correction will be lower, glasses lens will be thinner. The other option for you, depending on your age is either Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) or the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (Visian ICL). RLE is more for patients 40 or older who wear readers/bifocals and wants to have good close and distance vision. Visian ICL is for those who want good distance vision. If you're over 40 and want Visian ICL it is okay as well but you will need to wear READERS. Good luck!
