What sorts of liquids are included in the daily recommended 8 servings of water per day?

Do any other liquids count, such as tea, lemonade etc?

  1. Other liquids such as tea and lemonade can definatly help but to drink pure water is the best thing and ultimately better than the rest, also tea and lemonade have sugars which you might want to stay away from especially when your trying to do the healthy thing and drink your daily water.
  2. well all that has water init but the guide clearly says 8-8oz glasses of water daily..not 3-8oz,3-8oz tea and 2-8oz lemonade..srry bro..its water
  3. Tea, lemonade, stock, can all count as servings. Coffee and alcoholic beverages don't, as they make you lose fluids. Also counts for energy drinks like red bull.
  4. H20
  5. water...anything added to the water makes the body work to utilize or filter it, rather than the purity of water helping the kidneys flush the daily toxins from your system. drinking liquid for hydration is another thing that drinking water for health...just about anything you drink can hydrate you, but only water purifies and cleanses your body.
  6. Water is better than all those and you should consume at least 8 glasses of water everyday. My doctor actually told me that tea and sodas have the opposite effect of what you want... caffeine in tea and soda is a diuretic and does not hydrate you like water does.
  7. You can include other beverages towards your daily intake. It was previously thought that caffeinated beverages cause dehydration but that has recently been disproved. Tea does have a lot of health benefits, but it also has calories, especially if there is sugar added. Your best bet is to stick with water as your main source of hydration. I found this cool chart which shows which kinds of beverages are most recommended and their daily allowances: http://www.nestle.com/SharedValueCSR/Environment/Water/Report/Consumers/USABeverageGuidancePanel.htm
