How much do contact lenses cost normally at the eye doctors? The 1 month or 3-6 month kind?
hi, i was wondering how much do contact lenses normally costs for a full year? i dont need colored, just normal ones to see.i want the kind that you replace every month at least, but it would be better for me with the 3-6 month replaced kinds if there are such things.ive done some reading about them but im not sure if there are 6 month ones. ive only heard of 3. it would not be ideal for me to have the full year ones.daily disposables would cost to much. it doesnt matter i could work with either hard or soft lenses. also, how much would it cost including the eye exam and contact fitting? are those two seprate things or all together? pearl vision or wallmart is where i go. my moms ify about internet buying. background: im 13 years old and my dad already said i can have contacts but my mom doesnt want me to because she thinks they cost way to much. i know some of my friends only pay around $140 for a full year so thats about the same amount for eyeglasses. thx for all your help!! i live in USA. Illinois. near chicago. sorry i forgot, i dont need the colored, or the sleep in ones, just regular- nothing special contacts. thx does it affect the cost if you see differently in each eye? i think i see better in my right eye. so would i need to pay more just because of that or is that normal?

- My son is 13 also and has contacts. His are the kind you replace every month. You can get 3 pairs for around 25 bucks, give or take a couple dollars. So for a years worth it should cost around 100 dollars.
- It depends on where you live. But here, it is $30 for a 3 month supply of disposable soft lenses. So, for a year suplly it would be about $120. Depending on your insurance an eye exam would cost between $50 to $120. Contact fittings are usually included with an eye exam. Most contact lens companys give you a free trial pair of contacts so that is one month free.
- contacts are wierd i have to have mine specialy made they cost 99 dollars a box for one eye and another box for the other one it ends up costing 200 for half a year. it is because i have +3.75 and +4.25 plus i have astigmatism. so i am scared that my eyes are allready messed up and im thinking i should get the laser eye surgery when i get 18 (im 15)
- Each lense costs about $5 a piece. So it would be around $100 a year.
- I have the Acuvue Advance with hydraclear.. and mine are $87 a year.. I get the 6 pack.. : ) I live in Alabama if that makes any difference. And my vision is different in both eyes, and it cost me the same.
- it depends on your prescription, and how bad your eyesight is. If you have fairly good eyesight then it may only cost you anywhere from $50 to $100. But if you have problems like mine with astigmatism then your looking at $400-$700 but thats because mine would have to be specially made.Usually the eye exam is about $89-$109 and that usually includes an exam for both glasses and contacts. If you do decide to get contacts the fitting is usually included in the price and you have to go back about a week or two later to see how your eyes are handling them. Of course I live in california so prices may vary from place to place. You would really have to check with your eye doctor about all the options that would be available to you, they would know better than anyone. Call them for a consultation and see what they can offer.
