How long can you use 2 weeks disposable contact lenses if you use only once per week?

I recently got daily disposable contact lenses to wear them when I'm snowboarding. I wear glasses and I used to snowboard without glasses but my eye sights got worse(myopia -2.75, -3.00) and I can't see the bumps on the slope well at dusk. I'll use the contacts only when I'm snowboarding. So I got a disposable contact lens exam (1 day Acuvue) and it seems that the best price I could find on these are $18.50 a box. For 4 boxes (2 months), it comes out $74. They'll be enough for this winter and maybe winter. I haven't ordered yet. Then I found out from a hot deals website that you can buy 8 boxes of Acuvue Oasis (2 weeks disposable, 1 year's supply) for just $111.98. I was wondering if I could order it without getting a new contact lens prescription and another question is if I open one up, how long can it last if I used only once? Like if I open a pair and use one day on this Saturday then put them in a contact lens case, can I use them next Saturday? How long can I use like that? How many times?

  1. if used this way, probally each pair should last 14 weeks. (ie. 2weeks = 14days) just remember to clean them before putting away each time. I have disposables, SofLens, and I mostly wear them when I go out or if I go to the beach or swimming. Mine have lasted for ages used this way as I rarely go out these days and I mostly swim in the summer. So i think I bought these sets ( i have to buy 2- as the eyes are different) probally 2 year ago. i just throw them when i cant see anymore. I think there is still a couple of sets in the box.   2. I use mine until they feel like they are not staying flat on my eye. I don't pay any attention to how long they are supposed to last.
  3. I have been wearing the same two week disposables, 12 hours a day, for the past 3 months. It is just a guideline. I just change them whenever I have problems getting them in my eyes or they become irritable
