Dailies Contact Lenses

Can I sleep with my focus dailies contacts lenses in?

I know they're meant for new ones each day, I have slept with them in before and nothing happened but I'm wondering if anyone else does/has and do you think it's okay?

  1. Very bad idea. Nothing might have happened now but consider the long term effects. Plus something could happen. You might end up not being able to wear contact lenses ever again.
  2. No i don't think its okay, because my mom (i am 15) has contact lenses and she tryed that once and it damaged her eyes, but she is okay now.
  3. i am also using this daily contact. I clean them every night before sleeping and disinfect them for the next morning wearing.
  4. No. Don't take risk at all. BE MORE ATTENTIVE FOR THE CARE OF YOUR EYES AND DON'T THINK TO DO THIS AGAIN. Please........
  5. You can, but it's a very bad idea because you are taking a risk of an immediate bad problem and storing up trouble for yourself in the future. "I have slept with them in before and nothing happened" No, you killed off hundreds or thousands of endothelial cells. You have millions of spare ones, so it's not surprising you didn't notice. But you tend to lose them with age, anyway, and you might need then, and the supply isn't infinite or replaceable. "Corneal Exhaustion Syndrome", or worse. Even before that you run increased risk of eye infections, corneal ulcers and toxic eye reactions from accumulated cell debris. You can also save money by driving on bald tyres. And get away with it for a good while, too. Right up until the moment when you don't.
  6. Some eyes are more tolerant of sleeping in contacts at first, but in the long run everyone loses. I recently kept a pair of night and day lenses on for 3 months. I had to tear them off. It was painful. Afterwords, there was an indentation of the contact around my iris. It looks like the contacts are still in. I talked to my doctor and apparently it is SCAR TISSUE, Possibly permanent. Even if you only sleep in them every other day it can still scar because your eye is losing O2. If you want to sleep in contacts get some that approved for sleeping in, but still take them out regularly (they are rated for continuous wear for a month.)
  7. nah...u cannot wear it overnite...only sum lenses can...
  8. No, do NOT sleep with this particular brand/type of contacts in your eyes. Dailies are not meant to do this in especially, but they are particularly bad for sleeping overnight in. Others... even if they say you can sleep in them, I would definitely take them out anyway.
  9. NEVER!! Very bad for your long term ocular health
